Flash Developer

Develops, tests, debugs, and updates front-end flash applications to create animation, interactivity, and various web page components, to integrate video into web pages and advertisements, and to develop rich Internet applications, using JavaScript and/or ActionScript. Collaborates with Product Manager, Designers, and Application Engineers to refine and improve the user experience and to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies translate through to world class products and services.: Develops functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts. Analyzes user specifications and requirements. Implements and maintains Flash and JavaScript and/or ActionScript-based components and applications in a team environment. Debugs and resolves bugs with legacy web applications. Revises and updates programs and documentation as required. Keeps up-to-date on new trends and technologies in the JavaScript and ActionScript arenas. May design, develop, test, and deploy new web sites for both internal and external clients as well as implement enhancements to existing sites.

Computer Web Developer

Controls website design and creation. Plans, designs, develops, tests, edits, maintains, and documents look and flow of websites. Interviews clients to help them clarify their goals for establishing a website. Designs or supervises design of digitized images, banners, bullets, charts, image maps and other graphics to enhance appearance of site. Applies knowledge of programming techniques and computer internet systems. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty; however, some companies may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Educates clients about the similarities and differences between Internet communication and other forms of marketing and public relations efforts. Custom tailors a plan for a proposed site using combination of graphic and written material, and modifies proposal as necessary until client is satisfied. Writes, or edits and formats, copy to present clients' message effectively. Develops video and audio enhancements if desired by client. Works with clients to select a domain name and registers the chosen name. Carries out functions of an Internet service provider (ISP) to reduce amount of technical expertise needed or trains personnel to operate and update site on an independent basis. Provides marketing and promotion services. Updates and expands information on website to attract repeat users. Meets on a regular basis to evaluate and modify site as it seems appropriate. Typical background requirements include knowledge in the field of computer science along with advanced knowledge of various web-enabling computer languages. Converts project specifications into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language that can be processed by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages. Applies knowledge of database design standards and database management. Enters program codes into computer system. Enters commands into computer to run and test programs. Determines if project requires creating a series of new programs or modifying existing programs that access data stored in databases. Observes display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors. Replaces, deletes, or modifies codes to correct errors. Analyzes, reviews, and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manual to describe installation and operating procedures. Assists in solving operating problems with site. Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet client's site requirements.

Flash Drier Operator

Controls flash-drier furnace and auxiliary equipment to remove water from activated carbon slurry, for use in industrial and consumer applications: tests specific gravity of carbon slurry in agitator tank, using hydrometer, and draws sample for acidity testing by wash operator. Admits water and dumps prescribed amount of caustic into slurry tank to bring density and acidity readings to prescribed standard. Turns valve to heat slurry to specified temperature and starts pumps to transfer slurry to vacuum drum filter. Adjusts gate leading to paddle mixer to regulate flow of slurry to furnace. Sets automatic controls to maintain furnace temperature at plant standard. Moves switches and turns valves to regulate furnace blowers and cyclone filters that control flow and discharge dried carbon. Directs activities of workers engaged in tending filter and carbon-bagging machines. Weighs carbon samples taken from furnace discharge spouts and computes percentage of moisture removed, using standard formula. Keeps log of gauge readings and test results. Verifies setup of scraper blade on filter drum for efficient operation. May turn fuel valves to regulate furnace conditions in manually controlled units, according to specifications.

Film Developer

Operates machine to develop still or motion-picture film. : Pulls reel of motion-picture film or rack of film strips through trapdoor into darkroom. Examines film to determine type processing required, utilizing knowledge of film developing techniques. Feels edges of film to detect tears and repairs film, using hand stapler. Mounts film in guide slot of developing machine according to length of time required for processing and pulls lever to lower film into processing position. Flips switch to start machine that transports film through series of solutions and into drying cabinet to develop and dry film. Observes film passing through machine to determine density of image and adjusts machine controls to shorten or lengthen path of film through solutions according to observation.

Developer Printed Circuit Board Panels

Tends equipment that develops photoresist image on panels of printed circuit boards (pcb's): mixes specified amount of chemical solution and pours chemicals into equipment developing tank. Turns valves to admit specified amount of water into equipment reservoirs. Starts equipment and monitors conveyor systems, temperature gauges, and pumps. Adjusts controls to maintain specified temperature levels and speed of conveyor. Removes plastic protective film from upper and lower surfaces of photoresist laminated pcb panels. Places panels on conveyor that feeds panels into equipment that automatically develops photoresist circuit image on exposed photoresist film, dissolves unexposed photoresist film, and rinses and dries panels. Removes panels from conveyor and visually examines panels to detect development processing defects. Notifies supervisor of defective panels and equipment malfunctions.

Open Developer Operator

Tends open-developer machine that develops dye in dyed or printed cloth, removes excess color from cloth, and wets cloth before soaping process: threads end of roll of cloth through machine rolls. Turns steam valves to heat machine tank and opens valves to admit specified chemicals into tank and to start water spray. Turns handwheels to close wringer rolls and starts machine. Straightens wrinkles in cloth as cloth enters machine. Sews end of new roll of cloth to end in machine during processing, using portable sewing machine. Drains tank of machine after cloth is processed. May mix chemicals in storage tank to develop desired color of cloth.

Multimedia Developer

Leads the design and development of electronic delivery mediums, including web, A/V, and video. Creates new electronic delivery mediums and maintains existing ones to help deliver key communications to internal and external customers and enable greater productivity. : Develops and assists in the production and design of web, video, and A/V content. Assists in the identification and implementation of new technologies that will enhance the effectiveness and impact of electronic delivery mediums. Designs, creates, updates, and posts new content to internal and external web pages and A/V screens. Changes the media format of source content into multiple formats. Enhances the look, feel, and functionality of existing electronic mediums.

Software Developer

Conducts analysis, designs products, and programs computer software that requires extensive research. Typical background for this position is advance study/knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development and methodologies. Excludes paraprofessional positions.: Performs software and system testing procedures, bug verification, release testing, and beta support. Performs product design and programming activities involving multiple modules or subsystems. Participates in design meetings and consults with other staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system. Performs complex release testing and beta support for assigned projects and resolves problems found in the software. Prepares documentation required of the product. Analyzes and researches software requirements to determine feasibility of design and marketing requirements within time and cost constraints. May consult with customer concerning application and maintenance of software. May coordinate installation of software system. May serve as a project architect.

Safety Clothing & Equipment Developer

Designs safety clothing and equipment to protect personnel against hazards, such as fire and toxic fumes: consults with employers and technical personnel to determine safety problem involved. Designs clothing and equipment, such as suits, helmets, and gloves, incorporating such devices as mechanical breathing apparatus and communication systems to meet specific hazards. Drafts pattern of garment parts on pattern paper in full scale, using ruler, drawing instruments, and pattern blocks, and cuts material to make first pattern. Gives instructions to workers engaged in cutting material and assembling sample garment. May estimate cost of production.

Contact Lens Flashing Puncher

Punches flashing from molded plastic contact lenses, using handpress.: Places compartmentalized box under openings in press-holding fixture to catch lens after punching. Positions lens in holding fixture and pulls lever to lower hollow punch that cuts flashing from lens. Repeats punching, allowing only lenses of same specifications to fall in same compartment. Labels and routes lenses in envelopes or boxes to stockroom or other workstations.
