Election Supervisor

Election Clerk

Performs any combination of the following duties during elections: compiles and verifies voter lists from official registration records. Requests identification of voters at polling place. Obtains signatures and records names of voters to prevent voting of unauthorized persons. Distributes ballots to voters and answers questions concerning voting procedure. Counts valid ballots and prepares official reports of election results.

Utilization Review Supervisor

Plans, organizes, and supervises, under general direction, the activities of the Utilization Review unit of a hospital. Ensures compliance with reimbursement rules of third-party payers. Performs the more complex utilization review work. Monitors and ensures hospital compliance with Medic-Cal, Medicare, and insurance reimbursement policies, the maintenance of patient care quality, and the maximizing of reimbursements for services provided. Reports to the Hospital Quality Assurance Manager.: Plans, organizes, and supervises the staff of the Utilization Review unit. Reviews and analyzes government and accrediting agency standards governing admissions, treatment, and continued stay of patients. Develops policies and procedures for adherence to governmental and accrediting agency standards. Coordinates the work of the Utilization Review staff with medical staff to ensure appropriate and timely patient care action and to maximize reimbursement. Analyzes individual patient records to determine appropriateness of admission. Reviews patient treatment plans for adherence to established criteria and standards. Refers cases that fail to meet criteria to the Patient Care Review Committee for review and course of action. Conducts studies and prepares reports for the review committee, medical staff, and administration. Serves as review committee liaison with other committees to coordinate formulation of policy and procedures. Explains procedures and documentation requirements to medical staff, managers, and other hospital personnel. Interviews, selects, trains, and evaluates Utilization Review staff.

Member Services Supervisor

Supervises employees responsible for responding to member inquiries. Provides customer service training and monitors employee response to inquiries to assure quality. Handles complex inquiries that cannot be handled by Member Services Representatives. Communicates with other departments to ensure resolution of member problems. This position typically requires a college degree with three years of health plan experience in a customer service call center. May order supplies and maintain supply inventory. May coordinate and supervise temporary workers used within the department.

Acid Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operation of equipment to process, store, and mix acids for use in making explosives, such as nitroglycerin, tnt, and dynamite: trains workers in operation of equipment. Inspects equipment and observes workers to ensure safe work practices. May supervise production of ammonium nitrate crystals and drying of dynamite-filler ingredients. Performs other duties as described under supervisor.

Per Diem Clerk

Compiles and computes freight and passenger charges payable to participating carriers on interline business: examines waybills and ticket sales records to compute number of miles each carrier transported freight or passengers. Computes freight or passenger charges payable to each carrier, using basic rates from rate table and calculating machine. Records results of calculations on special forms. Reviews statements submitted by other companies to determine if portion of charges received is correct. May distribute, to appropriate airlines, revenue from passengers traveling on more than one carrier on through passage and be designated passenger-interline clerk. May compile records of daily freight car rental fees due to other carriers and be designated per diem clerk.

Supervisor Clerical Generic

Supervises employees engaged in a variety of clerical, office, or administrative support activities. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities and current status or work activities. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assist employees in solving work problems. Supervises activities related to design of computers and computer-related equipment including, but not limited to, computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, keyboards, modems, printers, and related equipment. Assists in planning and establishing engineering schedules and following up performance against estimates.: Supervises assembly of cost control and statistical data and the development of material selection standards. Approves process specification and design standards. Responsible for staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning. Organizes and coordinates various sections of engineering. Assists in preparation and control of departmental annual budget.

Engineering Supervisor Chemical

Supervises and coordinates activities of chemical engineers and other employees engaged in developing new and improved processes, designing equipment, and developing processes for manufacturing chemicals and related products utilizing principles and technology of chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering and related physical and natural sciences. Supervises research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes. Designs and plans layout, and oversees personnel engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving equipment to carry out chemical processes on a commercial scale. Supervises analysis of operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost. Requires a degree in chemical engineering.: Ensures most effective arrangement of unit operations, such as mixing, grinding, crushing, heat transfer, size reduction, hydrogenation, distillation, purification, oxidation, polymerization, evaporation, and fermentation, exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards. Analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and may allocate operating budget funds. Interprets company policy to employees, and enforces company policy and practices. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet department deadlines. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. May direct activities of workers who operate and control such equipment as condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, kilns, pumps, stills, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, grinders, pipelines, electromagnets, and centrifuges to effect required chemical or physical change. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
