Physical Facilities Director

Develops and implements programs to maximize the utilization of facility assets. Develops short- and long-range facility utilization plans for facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a technical area such as architecture, engineering, or related field and five years of related management experience.: Establishes policies, procedures, programs, and budgets to assure effective maintenance of the facility in accordance with regulatory requirements. Serves as a liaison between the end user and the principle processes of operations and maintenance, engineering, energy, and physical safety. Building & Facilities Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates activities of skilled trades workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds. Prepares work schedules and gives work assignments to subordinates. This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Directs workers engaged in major painting projects; performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings; and maintaining and repairing building utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems. Supervises workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. Performs related work as required. May supervise security to protect employees and property. May direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse, and snow removal. May supervise custodial services. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Compiles records of labor and material cost for operating building and issues cost reports to owners or management. Reviews reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming fiscal year. Purchases building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture. May direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications. May be responsible for procurement of utilities or operations of utility systems. May negotiate for acquisition of property for development or lease of buildings and facilities. May prepare construction specifications or plans, obtaining advice from engineering consultants, assemble and analyze contract bids, and submit bids and recommendations to superiors for action.

Rental Manager Public Events Facilities

Negotiates contracts for leasing arenas, auditoriums, stadiums, or other public events facilities: solicits new business and renews established contracts to promote rental of facilities. Maintains schedule of rentals to determine availability of facilities for bookings. Oversees operation and maintenance of facilities. Notifies fire and police departments of scheduled use of buildings to provide protection. Studies reports to ascertain time lessee used facilities and if damage was incurred to facilities or contents. Submits bills and receives and accounts for monies paid for rentals.

Campus Police Lieutenant

Supervises and coordinates activities of law enforcement personnel in endeavoring to resolve community social problems, and to create better understanding of police functions within community: assigns subordinates to establish rapport with groups and individuals to identify and resolve grievances, problems, and needs. Consults social service agencies and public groups to determine community needs and to develop and coordinate remedial programs. Sponsors events, such as concerts, dances, and ball games for neighborhood youth groups. Designs components of equipment. Designs and directs activities of engineering personnel engaged in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and in establishment of methods, procedures, and conditions for testing equipment. Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry. May develop applications of controls instruments, and systems to new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses. May direct activities concerned with manufacture, construction, installation, and operational testing to ensure conformance of equipment and systems with functional specifications and customer requirements. May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities of field installations of equipment and systems.
