Manager Transportation

Formulates policies, programs, and procedures for transportation system, including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other terminal operations. Submits recommendations for development of, and compliance with, transportation policies, procedures, and programs. Plans, directs, and implements vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to effect economical utilization of vehicle facilities. Typically reports to a director and may have supervisors reporting to this position.: Directs compilation and issuance of timetables. Conducts continuous analyses of vehicle and driver assignments and analyzes scheduling for possible consolidation. Reviews and revises driver schedules to ensure increased efficiency and to lower costs. Conducts field surveys to evaluate operations and recommends changes. Directs compilation and preparation of statistical surveys to determine traffic trends. Reviews and analyzes reports, such as revenue and performance records, and seat occupancy patterns to secure information for recommended changes. Analyzes proposed schedules and rates, initiates preparation and distribution of proposed trip schedule changes, and submits analyses of data and rescheduling recommendations to administration. Directs operation and maintenance of communication systems, reviews procedures, provides guidance to resolve technical problems, analyzes costs, and recommends cost control measures. Reviews cost statements to locate excessive expenses, and develops plans, policies, and budgets. Selects and recommends personnel for staff positions and trains and assigns personnel for supervisory positions.

Transportation Coordinator

Coordinates the transportation of company's products and receipt of supplies, providing secure, safe, and reliable transportation. Coordinates shipping and delivery schedules for internal fleet and/or timing of external van or truck transportation of company products. Monitors load temperatures, if necessary, and weight of trucks for delivery, helping to facilitate maximizing trailer and carton cube utilization. Reviews bills of lading for product, and ensures freight costs are applied and entered. Ensures proper documentation is obtained and maintained.: Ensures receipts from suppliers and shipments of products to customers are delivered at expected time. Tracks and monitors incoming and outgoing transportation performance, ensuring carrier compliance to company standards. Updates transportation report, communicates information to appropriate parties, responds to inquiries regarding report and tracking information. Maintains cost records of all vehicles, including gasoline, parts, labor, and inspections. Ensures company drivers maintain all required qualifications. Handles multiple priorities including customer inquiries, order changes, sample orders, product returns, and product shortage resolution. Maintains current knowledge of transportation operations, including county, State, and Federal transportation regulations. Provides service to internal and external customers through timely processing and response. Prepares reports for customers and internal distribution. Conducts accident investigations involving company vehicles. Assists in the management of departmental budget and finances.

Group Insurance Specialist

Researches, analyzes, and integrates data to provide information on group insurance programs such as life, medical, dental, vision, and workers' compensation. Identifies needs for modification or changes in insurance program design and administrative procedures. Explains features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans. Plans, processes, and executes new group insurance policies and renewals, including quotes, presentation, enrollment, submission, and implementation.: Customizes insurance programs to suit individual clients, often covering a variety of risks. Handles the implementation process of insurance programs, which includes the gathering of information, development of timelines, facilitation of meetings, and communication of implementation status. Explains and interprets all aspects of company insurance programs to employees and dependents. Answers questions regarding group insurance benefits coverage. Makes employee presentations on group insurance programs. Fills out application forms or verifies information on forms submitted by employees. Acts as service point person for client accounts, building and maintaining strong business relationships. Files records of claims and fills out cancellation forms when employees leave company service. Provides support and expertise to insurance sales process. May correspond with or telephone physicians, hospitals, and employees regarding claims. May perform complex aspects of benefits accounting and reconciliation.

Social Group Worker

Develops program content, organizes, and leads activities planned to enhance social development of individual members and accomplishment of group goals: interviews individual members to assess social and emotional capabilities and plans group composition in relation to personal and social compatibility of members. Selects program appropriate to particular group goals, level of development, needs, capacities, and interests of group members. Involves members in planning and assuming responsibility for activities. Helps members through group experience to develop attitudes and social skills for improved family relations and community responsibility. May secure supplementary information, such as medical records and school reports. May work in collaboration with other professional disciplines. Refers members, when indicated, to community resources and other organizations. Employed in agencies, such as community center, settlement house, youth serving organization, institution for children or aged, hospital, or penal institution. Usually required to have skills acquired through degree program at school of social work.

Program Aide Group Work

Leads group work activities, as directed by agency program staff: receives instructions from program director, group work or group worker prior to initiating therapeutic group activities. Plans program details to meet needs and interests of individual members. Interests participants in various activities, such as arts and crafts and dramatics. Demonstrates techniques for active sports, group dances, and games. Helps develop new skills and interests. May work with part-time or volunteer staff. Works for social service agencies, such as community center, neighborhood house, settlement house, hospital, geriatric residential center, and health care facility.

Group Leader

Coordinates activities of group of farmworkers engaged in planting, cultivating, and harvesting diversified crops: recruits members for group. Locates jobs for group and accompanies group on job. May be required to hold state registration certificate. Performs other duties as described under supervisor.

Cleans interiors and exteriors of transportation vehicles, such as airplanes, automobiles, buses, railroad cars, and streetcars. A short demonstration is the training typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.: Cleans interior of vehicle, using broom, cloth, mop, vacuum cleaner, and whisk broom. Cleans windows with water, cleansing compounds, and cloth or chamois. Replenishes sanitary supplies in vehicle compartments. Removes dust, grease, and oil from exterior surfaces of vehicles, using steam-cleaning equipment, or by spraying or washing vehicles, using spraying equipment, brush or sponge. May polish exterior of vehicle. May fumigate interior of vehicle, using fumigating gases or sprays.

Director Transportation Utilities Regulation

Directs agency, division, or major function of agency or division charged with investigating regulated activities to assure compliance with federal, state, or municipal laws: interprets and clarifies federal, state, or municipal laws. Represents agency at meetings, conventions, and other forums to promote and explain agency objectives. Consults with other governmental agencies, business community, and private organizations to resolve problems. Plans and directs surveys and research studies to ensure effective program operation and to establish or modify standards. Recommends changes in legislation and administrative procedures to reflect technological and ecological changes and public sentiment. Confers with legislative liaison individuals or committees to develop legislative bills involving inspection procedures and to obtain wording for proposed inspection codes.
