Oversees the daily operations of an Adult Day Care Center. Organizes and directs an adult care facility to provide supervision and continuing care to participants. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and five or more years of management experience in adult day care operations.: Ensures that the center meets all licensing regulations related to adult (elder) care centers. Manages day care billing and maintains account records. Collects and reconciles program tuition and collects monies for food service and deposits according to standard policies. Maintains relationships with families and develops programs responsive to family needs. Provides for ongoing safety of adults in daily center activities. Files accident reports, when necessary, and monitors adherence to established safety policies. Directs and supervises the work of staff in providing for the care and needs of the center participants. Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for the center's operations. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies.
Directs activities of preschool, day care center, or other child development facility to provide instruction and care for children: prepares and submits facility budget to board of trustees, administrative agency, or owner for approval. Authorizes purchase of instructional materials and teaching aids, such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning. Interviews and recommends hiring of teaching and service staff. Confers with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures. Confers with teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences. Reviews and evaluates facility activities to ensure conformance to state and local regulations. Reviews and approves menu plans and food purchases. May arrange medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental instructions. May perform classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher. May be designated director, child development center; director, nursery school.

Drives bus to transport workers between recruiting point and agricultural work area: ascertains from employer work to be performed, number of workers required, and area or field where workers are required. Parks bus at loading area for workers to board according to referral information furnished by recruiting agency, or selects workers from group applying for work. Guards industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, performing any combination of following duties: patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of industrial plant or commercial establishment, docks, logging camp area, or work site. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels miscreants. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred. Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property. May register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips. May record data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff. May perform janitorial duties and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms. May tend furnace or boiler. May be deputized to arrest trespassers. May regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow. May patrol site with guard dog on leash. May watch for fires and be designated fire patroller. Manages and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparation and layout of a technical publication and ensures the quality and timely delivery of required material. Studies materials to determine most effective form of presentation and number and type of illustrations required, in accordance with specifications and accepted standards of composition, limitations of equipment, and available funds. Activities include, but are not limited to, various media types, such as desktop publishing, documentation manuals and software, electronic publishing, illustrations, marketing materials and activities, repair guides and manuals, sales materials, software presentations, translations, users manuals, and related materials. May direct investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products. Records, analyzes, and informs concerned personnel of production quality assurance, and sales departments of status and disposition of customer complaints and claims. Negotiates settlement of claims for which company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management. May survey potential markets to increase sales.
