Staff Accountant

Applies accounting principles that include work that is analytical, creative, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice. The work draws upon and requires a thorough knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management. Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships. Evaluates alternative means of treating transactions. Plans the manner in which account structures should be developed or modified. Ensures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management. Considers the need for new or changed controls. Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition. Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements. Advises operating officials on accounting matters. At the fully competent level, may lead and coordinate activities of other lower level accountants, paraprofessionals, and/or clerical workers performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Excludes paraprofessional accountants.: Recommends improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. May establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. May devise and implement manual or computer-based system for general accounting.

Medical Staff Coordinator

Coordinates administrative support services for medical staff and medical staff officers. Coordinates processing of applications and appointments of medical staff and allied health professionals. Typically requires business or vocational training and related experience.: Oversees orientation of new medical staff members to hospital protocols and services. Coordinates communication of information between medical staff departments and administration. Coordinates and facilitates activities of medical staff committee meetings. Performs executive secretarial and office services for medical staff officers. Oversees billing, collection, and deposit of medical staff dues, including maintenance of related accounting records. May perform credentialing functions in smaller organizations.

Obstetrics Staff Nurse

Provides professional nursing care for patients in the obstetrical and gynecological departments. Performs total patient care in the labor room, delivery room, postpartum unit, and nursery. Requires RN license.: Administers prescribed medications. Maintains patients' medical records. Assists physician during treatments, examinations, and surgical procedures. Evaluates, plans, and documents the delivery room nursing process as needed.

Staff Pharmacist Retail-Satellite

Dispenses and compounds prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements in a retail or satellite pharmacy.: Reviews and monitors medication therapy and orders written by appropriate caregivers for safety and effectiveness considering specific patient conditions and health status. Prepares labels and dispenses medications for patients in accordance with physicians' prescriptions and in compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and the maintenance of required records. Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Maintains appropriate records of dispensing and oversees and maintains the systems that charge or credit for medications and medication treatments. Supervises pharmacy workers who assist in mixing, packaging, labeling and dispensing pharmaceuticals. Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs. Provides drug information and educates caregivers and patients regarding medications and their proper use and monitoring. Monitors all aspects of the medication process, collects data and presents reports and recommendations regarding issues with medication systems. Ensures that proper documentation is completed for all medications, with particular attention on controlled substances. Maintains all equipment and systems used in the preparation, oversight and dispensing of medications. Ensures that appropriate medications are available, ordered, prepared, stored and maintained. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and certification or completion of an accredited clinical residency program. A current license is also required. May analyze medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.

Staff Nurse

Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital, nursing home, infirmary, or similar health care facility. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Requires RN license.: Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient. May rotate among various clinical services of institution, such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, psychiatry, and tuberculosis. May prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and hand items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner. May make beds, bathe, and feed patients. May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.

Budget Accountant

Applies principles of accounting to analyze records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to prepare budget, using a computer, by projecting future revenues and expenses. To carry out responsibilities at this level typically requires a four-year degree. Excludes paraprofessional budget accounting positions.: Documents revenues and expenditures expected and submits to management. Maintains budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities, such as advertising and marketing, production, maintenance, or to project activities, such as construction of buildings. Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Interprets budgets to management. May develop and install manual or computer-based budgeting system. May assist in financial analysis of legislative projects to develop capital improvement budget. May assist communities to develop budget and efficient use of funds.

Staff Toxicologist

Studies effects of toxic substances on physiological functions of human beings, animals, and plants to develop data for use in consumer protection and industrial safety programs: designs and conducts studies to determine physiological effects of various substances on laboratory animals, plants, and human tissue, using biological and biochemical techniques. Interprets results of studies in terms of toxicological properties of substances and hazards associated with misuse of products containing substances. Provides information concerning toxicological properties of products and materials to regulatory agency personnel and industrial firms. Reviews toxicological data submitted by others for adequacy, and suggests amendment or expansion of data to clarify or correct information. Confers with governmental and industrial personnel to provide advice on precautionary labeling for hazardous materials and products and on nature and degree of hazard in cases of accidental exposure or ingestion. Prepares and maintains records of studies for use as toxicological resource material. Testifies as expert witness on toxicology in hearings and court proceedings.

Accountant Systems

Devises and installs special accounting systems and related procedures in establishment which cannot use standardized system: conducts survey of operations to ascertain needs of establishment. Sets up classification of accounts and organizes accounting procedures and machine methods support. Devises forms and prepares manuals required to guide activities of bookkeeping and clerical personnel who post data and keep records. May adapt conventional accounting and recordkeeping functions to machine accounting processes and be designated accountant, machine processing.

Treasury Accountant

Compiles and prepares external and internal financial data, and maintains and ensures the accuracy and time efficiency of financial management reports, including monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports. Assists with accounting activities relating to the maintenance of complete and accurate accounting records. Reviews and assists in the daily and month-end accounting activities, including bank account and balance sheet reconciliations. Reconciles vendor invoices to ensure accurate billing of services, investigates and resolves exceptions, and audits vendor bill rates to ensure they match contracted amounts. Assists in establishing and maintaining systems and internal controls related to cash management.: Prepares accurate and timely general ledger account reconciliations subsequent to month end. Ensures that reconciling items are identified and cleared on a timely basis. Submits reconciliations for manager approval, and completes the related sections of the monthly account certification report. Maintains journals or subsidiary ledgers. Reviews invoices and statements verifying information and ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated. Analyzes and reconciles accounts with operating unit reports, researches cause of discrepancies, and takes action to ensure accounts are balanced. Audits, prepares, and maintains standard accounting journal entries requiring some calculation of entries. Manages and controls corporate cash, debt facilities, and short-term investments of surplus funds. Prepares short-term cash flow projections and assists with weekly cash forecast. Manages daily cash processes, reviews cash activity, and prepares cash position and summary reports for management. Identifies, recommends, and implements best practice cash management processes. Manages and controls debt facility reporting requirements including communicating with lender and ensuring debt agreement compliance. Ensures all activities are conducted in accordance with bank or lending contracts, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Analyzes bank services and fees and makes improvement and/or optimization recommendations. Maintains and administers Treasury documents including Letters of Credit, banking agreements, and process and policy documentation. Acts as primary point of contact to the Treasury community. Coordinates the resolution of bank-related issues and questions. Identifies and implements changes to bank service requirements and needs. Prepares certain Treasury and cash position reconciliations. Acts as primary contact for internal Treasury related questions. Participates in projects to develop or enhance financial models and analysis tools. Assist in the ongoing development of accounting processes and procedures under standards developed by financial management.

Staffing Consultant

Manages entire full cycle recruiting function for permanent or temporary employment agency, playing an integral part of the decision making process. Conducts requisition reviews with clients or hiring managers to determine essential job function requirements, and develops sourcing strategies for recruiting quality candidates. Reviews applications and resumes, screens and conducts job interviews with applicants, matches qualified candidates to jobs, and provides permanent or temporary placement of qualified candidates for required job assignments.: Develops job descriptions, and posts positions on internal and external websites and job boards. Exercises discretionary judgment in administering company systems and procedures in recruiting, hiring, and assigning associates to clients. Assigns associates to client accounts, for temporary assignments, advising associates of client’s location, the person to whom they will report, working conditions, essential job functions, work schedule, pay rate, and all other pertinent information. Monitors and records associate performance and provides necessary feedback. Provides associate counseling and appropriate disciplinary action to correct performance problems. Researches issues and advises clients or managers about employment laws, and practices relevant employment and effective employee relations practices. Retains qualified associates.
