Nursing Skilled Nursing Facility Director

Directs administrative and clinical functions provided by a skilled nursing facility or a division of a skilled nursing facility.: This position requires license as a Registered Nurse with five years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility. Must be skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Performs in a leadership capacity for clinical practice, supervision, teaching, and research. Coordinates activities of the nursing specialty units under management with other patient care units. Provides oversight and direction in establishing and maintaining a system for developing, reviewing, approving and disseminating standards of clinical practice. Assists in reviewing and making recommendations on policy issues regarding clinical practice within specific nursing disciplines within the organization. Identifies problem areas in areas of responsibility and takes corrective action. Manages daily operations and budget. Develops and coordinates plans and policies, resources, and goals for the department. Ensures compliance with nursing care standards and applicable laws, regulations, and/or institution rules, standards and guidelines. Hires, trains and motivates a competent nursing staff.

Skilled Nursing Facility Head

Provides executive management of daily operations of a skilled nursing facility.: Oversees and determines the effectiveness of operations and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Plans, installs, directs, coordinates, and evaluates an administrative management organization within the facility to integrate functions such as fiscal planning and controls, staffing, procurement and storekeeping, grounds and building maintenance, transportation, communication, housekeeping, dietary, and safety programs. Ensures continuity and consistency in delivery and quality of services. Develops and implements an annual business plan that achieves financial goals while meeting reasonable customer expectations. Prepares staffing schedules to ensure that adequate numbers of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of residents. Resolves problems encountered by nursing home staff, medical staff, visitors, or residents. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates the staff and services for the nursing facility. Implements programs and changes to enhance resident satisfaction and provide for new or prospective resident needs. Maintains high occupancy by developing and implementing marketing strategies. Develops, maintains and implements policies and procedures. Hires, trains and motivates a qualified staff. Prepares and manages the operational budget. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies. Maintains and communicates policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility. This position typically requires a college degree in a related field and five years of experience in continuing care operations management.

Skilled Nursing Certified Nursing Assistant

Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in a skilled nursing facility by performing the following functions for patients: dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, providing oral care, providing nail care, providing catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting patients, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, filling linens, and taking out trash. This position typically requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program.: Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in a skilled nursing facility by performing the following functions for patients: dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, providing oral care, providing nail care, providing catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting patients, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, and filling linens. This position typically requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program. Promptly answers patient call bells. Bathes and dresses bed patients, combs hair, and otherwise attends to their comfort and personal appearance. Cleans room and changes bed linen. Takes and records temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Gives medication as directed by Physician or Nurse and makes notation of amount and time given. Gives enemas, douches, massages, and alcohol rubs. Applies hot and cold compresses and hot water bottles. Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Observes patients for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel. Prepares food trays, feeds patients, and records food and liquid intake and output. May give injections.

Elicits and records information about patient's medical history. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.: Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Counsels clients, using counseling methods and procedures, such as psychotherapy and hypnosis, to assist clients in gaining insight into personal and interactive problems, to define goals, and to plan action reflecting interests, abilities, and needs. Evaluates results of counseling methods to determine reliability and validity of treatment used. Interacts with other professionals to discuss therapy or treatment, new resources or techniques, and to share information.

Caseworker Family

Aids individuals and families having problems concerning family relationships or other aspects of their social functioning affecting unity of family and welfare of community: counsels clients on problems, such as unsatisfactory relationships between marriage partners or between parents and children; unwed parenthood; home management; work adjustment; vocational training; need for financial assistance; care of the ill, handicapped, or aged, care of other family members at time of physical or mental illness; desertion of parent; or difficulties encountered in travel or stabilization in new community. Helps clients to use agency's services, such as homemaker, or day care, and other community resources. In a public assistance or voluntary agency ascertains client's eligibility for financial assistance and determines amount of grant and assumes responsibility for services rendered. May assist travelers, runaways of any age, migrants, transients, refugees, repatriated americans, and problem families drifting from community to community, encountering difficulty in traveling or needing help toward stabilization. Employed in organizations, such as public assistance, family service, travelers aid, and american red cross home service. Usually required to have knowledge and skill in casework methods acquired through degree program at school of social work.

Therapist Family
