Perform secretarial duties utilizing legal terminology, procedures, and documents. Prepare legal papers and correspondence, such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. May also assist with legal research.

Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer. Composes letters and memoranda from dictation, verbal direction, or from knowledge of company policy or procedures. Composes and types routine correspondence and files correspondence and other records. Answers telephone, gives information to callers, routes call to appropriate person, and places outgoing calls. Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, and directs visitors to employer or appropriate person.

Develop laws and statutes at the Federal, State, or local level. Include only elected officials.

Secretary Clerk

Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers. May review law journals and other legal publications to identify court decisions pertinent to pending cases and submit articles to company officials.

Secretary to CEO

Relieves the executive of administrative type functions in order to increase the time an executive has available for executive level responsibilities. Handles a wide variety of complex situations and conflicts involving the clerical and administrative function of the office that often cannot be brought to the attention of the executive. Composes correspondence requiring knowledge of executive's views, philosophy, and some understanding of technical matters; may sign for executive when technical or policy content has been authorized. : Notes commitments made by executive during meetings and arranges for staff implementation. On own initiative, arranges for staff members to represent organization at conferences and meetings, establishes appointment priorities, or reschedules or refuses appointments or invitations. Summarizes the content of incoming materials, specially gathered information, or meetings to assist executive; coordinates the new information with background office sources; draws attention to important parts or conflict. Locates and attaches related documents to correspondence that requires the personal attention of the executive. Reads outgoing correspondence for executive approval, and alerts writers to any conflict with the file or departure from policies or executive's viewpoints; gives advice to resolve the problem. Anticipates ways in which executive time may be saved. Handles details of a confident nature, and performs administrative functions based on understanding of company policy, executive's views and philosophy. Schedules appointments and gives information to callers. Takes and transcribes notes and dictation. Reads and routes incoming mail. Performs other secretarial and administrative duties.

Secretary School

Performs basic secretarial duties under general supervision in public or private schools. Composes, or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other materials. Compiles and files student grade and attendance reports and other school records. Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.: Talks with students encountering problems and resolves problem or directs student to appropriate person. Answers telephone to provide information, take messages, or transfer calls. May order and dispense school supplies. May accept and deposit funds for lunches, school supplies, and student activities. May disburse funds, record financial transactions, and audit and balance student-organization and other school-fund accounts. May take dictation in shorthand and transcribe notes. May maintain calendar of school events. May oversee student playground activities and monitor classroom during temporary absence of teacher.

Secretary Social
