Top Government Sales Executive

Directs activities, either directly or through subordinates, concerned with contracts for government sales of equipment, materials, products, or services. This position is the highest government sales executive and, depending on organization, Governments Sales Managers may report to this position.: Negotiates contracts with government. Reviews and authorizes bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required. Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts. Advises planning and production departments of contractual rights and obligations. Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Plans, develops, establishes, and implements policies and procedures in accordance with objectives of organization. May act as liaison between company and subcontractors. Account Manager Sales

Manages the service or sale of certain accounts, with duties entailing estimating and analyzing records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Typically reports to a director and may have supervisors reporting to this position.: Finds and contacts potential new customers. Keeps in contact with clients, answers their questions, and deals with complaints. Predicts future market trends and develops new sales ideas. Interprets accounts and records to management. May be responsible for sales budget. May attend trade shows and conferences.

Sales Executive Technical Sales

Plans, develops, establishes, and implements policies, procedures, and objectives of technical sales function in accordance with objectives of organization. Confers with organization officials to plan technical sales objectives, to develop sales policies, and to coordinate functions. Develops and maintains accounts and responds to bids and proposals. Targets and develops clients through existing database and contacts, advertising resources, and the Internet. Meets with clients to evaluate their technical needs and to recommend and provide consulting solutions.: Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Evaluates the market position of competing technical products, services, and organizations and their marketing and sales techniques. Devises sales strategies and promotions to obtain maximum sales volume. Forecasts semi-annual and annual sales projections. Directs preparation of required reports. Interprets and enforces company policy and practices. Ensures the adequacy of sales training programs. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Sales Representative

Sells company products or services in assigned area or territory. The Sales Representative (General) level is distinguished by products or services that do not require scientific training or knowledge and success is more dependent on sales ability.: Develops new accounts. Communicates directly with new and existing customers or clients to explain features and merits of products or services offered. Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services. Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required. Closes transactions and takes orders. Submits time and expense reports to management. Investigates product/service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies. Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products or services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques. Calculates and quotes prices. May coordinate company technical engineering support and services to ascertain customers' needs.

Sales Representative Hotel

Contacts representatives of government, business, associations, travel agencies, convention groups, and social groups to solicit business for hotel, motel, or resort. Selects prospective customers for hotel services and calls on prospects to solicit business, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered, and quotes prices. : Reviews information on sales meetings, conventions, training classes, overnight travel, and other functions held by organization members to select prospective customers for hotel services. Calls on prospects to solicit business, analyzes requirements of function, verifies reservations by letter, or draws up contract and obtains signatures. Confers with customer and hotel department heads to plan function details, such as space requirements, publicity, time schedule, food services, and decorations. May serve as convention advisor or coordinator during function to minimize confusion and resolve problems, such as space adjustment and need for additional equipment. May select and release hotel publicity. May prepare and mail advance brochures to prospective customers.

Sales Representative Inside

Sells company products by either inbound or outbound telephone calls. Generates revenue by promoting sales of new and existing products. : Initiates sales calls to existing customers to assess the need for replenishing inventories. Prospects and develops relationships with potential customers, or leads, to cultivate new business. Provides ongoing customer and technical service on existing accounts. May conduct on-site visit to customers.

Sales Representative Aircraft

Sells aircraft to individuals and to business and industrial establishments. Discusses suitability of different types of aircraft to meet customer's requirements. Demonstrates aircraft in flight, stressing maneuverability, safety factors, and ease of handling.: Verifies customer's credit rating. Prepares contracts for plane storage and maintenance service. May pilot aircraft during demonstrations and be required to have private pilot's license issued by Federal Aviation Administration. May appraise aircraft traded in on new plane. May rent aircraft to customers.

Sells computers and electronic data processing systems performing duties as a sales representative. Analyzes customer's needs and recommends computer system that best meets customer's requirements. : Emphasizes salable features, such as flexibility, cost, capacity, and economy of operation. Consults with staff engineers on highly technical problems.
