Logistics Cost Manager

Manages and coordinates, through subordinate personnel, employees engaged in estimating the cost of the design, tooling, manufacture, and modification of products or projects. Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. Typically reports to a director and may have supervisory level personnel reporting to this position.: Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Develops and implements methods, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status of work activities. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists. Prepares department budget, identifying budget needs and/or reductions, and may allocate operating budget's funds. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Confers with administrative personnel, and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in estimates. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action. May specialize according to particular service performed, type of product manufactured, or phase of work involved, such as tool and fixture costs, production costs, construction costs, or material costs.

Logistics Engineer

Oversees and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and economical support for production of various goods and services. Ensures materials, goods, labor, equipment, supplies, and other requirements are delivered in good order at an optimum time and cost. Typically requires a four-year college degree in industrial engineering or a closely-related field; however, some companies may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Provides subcontractors, suppliers, management, and customers with logistics technology that ensures effective and economical support. Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product. Develops and implements program activities, coordinates efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolves problems in area of logistics to ensure meeting of commitments. Develops and initiates preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics support. Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics activities. Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel. May perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions. May utilize computer techniques for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation.

Logistics Coordinator

Coordinates the organization's daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution. This position typically requires a four-year degree or related experience.: Arranges warehousing for goods. Audits inventory to ensure that product adjustments are properly applied. Plans and schedules inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs. Acts as liaison between customers, freight carriers and shipping department. Ensures on-time delivery of goods to customers, by investigating and resolving detention issues. Controls costs by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting most cost-efficient method of shipment.

Clerk Supply

Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material. Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock. Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders or inventory.: Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. May maintain inventory and other stock records. May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, using labeling equipment. May distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued. May make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock. May determine methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space. May cut stock to size to fill orders. May move or transport materials or supplies to other departments, using hand or industrial truck.

Prepares medical instruments and related items for use and ensures their availability. Scrubs and washes surgical instruments, containers, and equipment, such as aspirators and suction units. Sterilizes instruments, equipment, surgical linens, and supplies, such as surgical packs and treatment trays, using autoclave, sterilizer, or antiseptic solutions. Prepares packs of supplies, instruments, and dressing and treatment trays, according to designated lists or codes, and wraps, labels, and seals packs.
