Product Development Specialist

Researches, develops, and implements new products to effectively compete in the market. Manages projects from the concept phase through the development lifecycle to successful production launch. Provides analytical and tactical support in development of product plans. : Conducts research preparing for new product development. Contributes technical expertise to the product design and development. Evaluates internal and external market trends and makes recommendations for existing product enhancements and new product development. Assists in requirements analysis and the definition of functional specifications for the development group. Pheresis Specialist

Collects blood components and provides therapeutic treatments, such as replacement of plasma, or removal of white blood cells or platelets, to patients, using blood cell separator equipment. Compiles and evaluates donor information to ensure that donor meets screening criteria. : Connects and installs tubing, transfer pack units, saline solution unit, other solution packs, and collection and separation containers to set up blood cell separator equipment. Explains procedures to donor or patient to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation of donor or patient. Performs venipuncture on donor or patient to connect donor or patient to tubing of equipment to prepare for procedure. Sets controls and starts equipment that collects specific blood component or adds, reduces, or replaces blood component, and replaces remaining blood in vein of patient or donor. Monitors operation of equipment and observes trouble lights indicating equipment problems. Talks to and observes donor or patient for signs of distress or side effects such as pallor, nausea, fainting, or other problems during procedure. Forwards collection bag to laboratory for testing or further processing. Records information following collection or treatment procedures, such as flow rate, body site at which needle was inserted, anticoagulant rate, amount of fluids used, volume processed, red cells lost, and other information.

Intake Specialist

Reviews care utilization of long-term care nursing home, assisted living facility, and home health care clients. Typically requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or a Certified Case Manager with experience in home health or gerontology.: Orders and reviews care coordination assessments, evaluations, and plans of care. Performs telephonic care coordination and follow-up. Communicates in writing or via telephone with clients, family members, agents, physicians, and discharge planners on eligibility requirements, policy benefits eligibility determinations, and contract provisions. Communicates with claim department staff, agents, and clients the licensing requirements for facilities and service providers. Provides Chronically Ill Certification that is required for tax-qualified plans. Processes documentation regarding eligibility. Monitors follow-up assessments or plans of care needed based on product type, diagnosis, and eligibility. Calls and verifies provider qualifications for policy benefits. Answers, services, and documents all notice of claim calls pertaining to policy benefits. Sets up initial assessment with vendor, identifies type of assessment needed, and coordinates resource lists.

Child Life Specialist

Provides a variety of recreational programs and activities to pediatric patients and families to promote emotional health and optimal development. Assesses the emotional and medical needs of assigned patient and families to determine the support needed. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience working with hospitalized children.: Formulates a plan of interaction based on assessment of patient and family and presents it to team members at psychosocial rounds and team meetings. Documents all interaction with patient and family in medical record charts. Provides play and recreational activities for assigned patients consistent with developmental needs. Utilizes developmentally appropriate methods for preparing children and families for diagnostic treatment and surgical procedures to optimize the quality of care. Supports family-centered care. Maintains ongoing communication with physicians, nurses, and unit and clinical staff to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

Mental Health Specialist

Plans and conducts group, individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions in an inpatient mental health unit.: Provides psychotherapeutic services to individuals, groups, couples or families and may specialize in a certain area. Determines frequency, duration, and intensity of treatment. Diagnoses and evaluates mental health status of patients. Collaborates with psychiatrist in developing treatment plans and works closely with medical providers. Prepares patient progress notes and maintains records of treatment. Develops discharge plans. Conducts neutral exchange services. This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work and two years of patient care experience.

Web Content Specialist

Creates, develops, acquires, delivers, and maintains quality and consistent content for websites based on management priorities, policy directives, and goals. Designs and creates Internet applications, enhancements, and modifications to the website. Monitors web usage and provides statistics for management reporting. Ensures the website design and content meets the organization standards.: Writes and edits web content that can be read by search engines and online audiences. Optimizes web content using required style guides and graphic standards. Reviews website regularly to ensure content accuracy, timeliness, and relevance. Tests website accessibility and functionality from various environments. Manages links and cross-promotions with other sites. Anticipates emerging trends, technologies, needs, and potentialities as they pertain to the organization.

PC Specialist

Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users. Answers client's inquiries concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation. There are no specific educational requirements, but excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals is required.: Inspects personal computer equipment and reads order sheet listing user requirements to prepare computer for delivery. Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises, following design or installation specifications. Loads specified software packages, such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer. Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Instructs user in use of equipment, software, and manuals. Replaces defective or inadequate software packages. Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction. Attends technical conferences and seminars to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments.

EDI Specialist

Provides technical and administrative support for relational electronic data interchange (EDI) database design, analysis, and operations. Performs necessary maintenance on EDI system in order to update records, specifications, and operating procedures of partner systems. This job typically requires one to two years of experience with electronic data interchange systems.: Compiles and maintains records of EDI account transactions. Generates reports for management detailing EDI account transaction activities. Performs product installation, configuration, and user training. Conducts product evaluations. Stays abreast of EDI product developments and attends partner-sponsored training classes and conferences.

EEO Specialist

Monitors company contracts to determine Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action requirements and to facilitate compliance with government agencies. Identifies potential areas of equal employment or diversity problems, studies equal opportunity complaints to clarify issues, and meets with personnel involved to counsel, arbitrate, and settle disputes. : Confers with supervisory personnel to verify or document alleged violations of law, such as failure to post notices, process grievances, or correct ethnic or other imbalances. Reviews collective bargaining agreements, and participates in contract negotiations. Advises management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances. Typically reports to Labor Relations Manager.: Prepares statistical reports of types and frequency of actions taken concerning grievances, arbitration, mediation, and related labor relations activities in order to identify problem areas. Verifies adherence to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day application of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Labor Management Relations Act, and other Federal and State legislations. Furnishes reference documents and statistical data concerning labor legislation, labor market conditions, prevailing union and management practices, wage and salary surveys, and employee benefits programs. May represent the organization in dealings with Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.
