Medical Quality Assurance Coordinator

Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in clinical area or hospital to ensure quality care to patients. Ensures appropriate care is provided to patients. Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interviews personnel and patients to evaluate effectiveness of quality assurance program. May report to Quality Assurance Head Hospital or a similar high-level position. Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in the field of nursing.: Serves as a professional resource to nursing staff. Writes quality assurance policies and procedures. May oversee personnel engaged in quality assurance review of medical records.

Automobile Club Safety Program Coordinator

Coordinates activities and gives information and advice regarding traffic-engineering and safety programs of automobile club: develops and revises automobile-club procedures regarding traffic-engineering and safety programs. Arranges for speakers to address gatherings to promote and explain traffic-engineering and safety programs. Schedules, monitors, and keeps records on program activities. Typically requires three years of experience in a related patient accounting position.: Reviews charges to ensure that patients are billed according to current rates. Assists in the implementation of a quality improvement program within a health plan by performing medical record site and provider site reviews, compiling statistics, developing methodology, and assisting in the development of indicators for quality monitoring activities. Performs on-site audits of practitioners and medical records and gives feedback where changes or enhancements may be made. Performs on-site credentialing or recredentialing audits of practitioner applicants and sites. Typically requires a graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with experience in direct patient care or in administration of health programs.: Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of areas identified for focused studies. Assists in the preparation of quality improvement reports. Assists in the evaluation of over-utilization and under-utilization of services. Provides assistance in preparation of the quality improvement portion of all surveys by external review organizations. Performs special clinical medical record reviews.

Organ Transplant Coordinator

Plans and coordinates in-hospital transplant services, solicits organ donors, and assists medical staff in organ retrieval for patients undergoing organ or tissue transplantation. Communicates with donors, patients, and health team members to ensure comprehensive documentation, including informed consent of potential organ donor and transplant recipient, equitable access to transplantation system, and access to treatment alternatives. : Analyzes medical data of potential organ donors and transplant recipients from medical and social records, physical examination, and consultation with health team members to perform preliminary physical assessment and screen potential recipients and donors. Schedules recipient and donor laboratory tests to determine histocompatibility of blood or tissue of recipient and donor. Compares collected data to normal values and correlates and summarizes laboratory reports, x-rays, and other tests to assist physician to determine medical suitability of procedure, to identify potential complicating factors, and to evaluate recipient and donor compatibility. Solicits medical and community groups for organ donors and assists medical team in retrieval of organs for transplantation, using medical instruments. Coordinates in-hospital services and counsels recipient and donor to alleviate anxieties and assist recipient and donor throughout procedure. Advises post-operative patients on therapies for managing health after transplant and serves as team member to monitor and assess progress of patient and offer advice and assistance to patient following transplant. May coordinate in-hospital services or coordinate organ and tissue procurement services. In cases where there is a specific field of specialization, may be designated accordingly.

Home Health Aide Coordinator

Coordinates the schedules of aides engaged in caring for elderly, convalescent, or disabled people in a home environment. Adjusts work schedules to meet coverage needs.: Prepares and submits staffing reports on aide activities. Maintains record of reports. Verifies time sheets.

Infection Control Coordinator

Directs and coordinates infection control program in hospital. Compares laboratory reports with communicable diseases list to identify conditions that require infection control procedures. Advises and consults with physicians, nurses, and hospital personnel concerning precautions to be taken to protect patients, staff, and other people from possible contamination or infection. Requires RN license.: Investigates infection control problems and arranges for follow-up care for people exposed to infection or disease. Instructs hospital personnel in universal and specific infection control procedures.
