Diagnostic Radiology Manager

Directs and manages operational activities of assigned diagnostic radiology staff. Assures provision of quality radiology services in accordance with physician's request. This position reports to the Diagnostic Radiology Director.: Organizes and implements plans on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that standards of quality are maintained by the staff. Coordinates provision of imaging procedures and film interpretations. Performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding of all areas of the Radiology Department. Oversees compliance with imaging quality standards. Enforces policies, procedures, and standards of operation. Oversees compliance with all State, Federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Ensures smooth patient flow throughout the day and an environment of patient safety. Assures that productivity and patient satisfaction goals are met. Monitors competency of personnel and ensures timely performance reviews of staff. Facilitates and participates in performance improvement activities. Participates with the Director in the development of operational and capital budgets. Demonstrates control and management of supplies and capital assets. Approves timekeeping, supply orders, and departmental strategic planning. Directs, supervises, trains, mentors, and evaluates staff.

Head of Radiology

Assists Radiologist (M.D.) in planning, directing, and coordinating administrative activities of radiology department of hospital medical center. Manages and coordinates activities of technicians and lower level employees. Conducts studies and implements changes to improve internal operations of department. : Advises staff and supervisors on administrative changes. Assists hospital officials in preparation of department budget. Conducts specified classes and provides training material to assist in student training program. Directs and coordinates personnel activities of department. Recommends cost saving methods and hospital supply changes to effect economy of department operations. Interprets, prepares, and distributes statistical data regarding department operations. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Registered Nurse

Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital, nursing home, infirmary, or similar health care facility. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Requires RN license.: Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient. May rotate among various clinical services of institution, such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, psychiatry, and tuberculosis. May prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and hand items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner. May make beds, bathe, and feed patients. May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.

Registered Health Information Technician

Reviews the medical record documentation to assure specificity of diagnoses, procedures, and appropriate/optimal reimbursement for hospital and/or professional charges and accurately codes and sequences the primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and CPT coding conventions. Typically requires a college degree in medical health records and CCS certification by the American Health Information Management Association or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).: Coordinates and reviews the work of designated employees to ensure quality and quantity of work performed through regular audits. Assists with research and development and presentation of continuing education programs on areas of specialization. Abstracts and compiles data from medical records for optimal reimbursement for hospital and/or professional charges. Consults with and educates physicians on coding practices and conventions. Maintains reporting documentation for certain procedures in compliance with regulation. Performs medical record audits. Compiles medical care and census data for statistical reports on types of diseases treated, surgery performed, and use of hospital beds, in response to inquiries from law firms, insurance companies, and government agencies. Conducts special studies and research.

Nurse Registered

Radiology Technologist

Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist. Typically requires specialized certification.: Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols. Practices radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to minimize radiation to patient and staff. May operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside. May specialize in production of screening and diagnostic x-rays for detection of breast tumors.

Chief Radiology

Directs and coordinates activities of radiology or diagnostic imaging department in hospital or other medical facility: reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, ct (computerized tomography) scanner, or mri (magnetic resonance imaging) equipment, evaluates accuracy and quality of images, and provides technical assistance. Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements. Recommends personnel actions, such as performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary measures. Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment and makes recommendations concerning department operating budget.

Registered Representative

Sells financial products and services to clients for investment purposes, applying knowledge of securities, investment plans, market conditions, regulations, and financial situation of clients. Must be registered to sell securities.: Identifies potential clients, using advertising campaigns, mailing lists, and personal contacts. Solicits business from potential clients. Interviews clients to determine financial position, resources, assets available to invest, and financial goals. Provides clients with information and advice on purchase or sale of securities, financial services, and investment plans, based on review of professional publications and other financial literature and knowledge of securities market and financial services industry. May read status reports and perform calculations to monitor client accounts and verify transactions. May work for firm that offers discounted brokerage fees and does not offer advice to clients. May develop and implement financial plans, and sell insurance, real estate, or securities.

Radiology Film Library Assistant

Files, retrieves and distributes patient records and films.: Processes incoming orders for procedures in Radiology departments. Maintains integrity of patient records within the film library. Maintains associated logs and records. Files films in accordance with established systems. Searches for lost or missing films or reports. Answers telephone and takes requests for films or reports. May pick-up and deliver films and records. May provide reception for patients and visitors to the department

Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse

Plans and provides acute dialysis patient care, related procedures, and treatments. Initiates, monitors, evaluates, and administers acute dialysis procedures and medications needed for the patient. Communicates and documents the necessary patient care plans.: Performs patient assessments, administers medications, and ensures the implementation of physician orders. Analyzes patient data including status of vascular accesses, lab work, and patient assessments and makes recommendations to the Physician. Develops short- and long-term treatment plans involving assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and education. Communicates with the Physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and complete age-specific care for the dialysis patient to achieve treatment outcomes in keeping with established patient care standards. Collaborates with a team of Nurses to plan and deliver dialysis treatments to patients and provide patient education.
