Nursing Skilled Nursing Facility Director

Directs administrative and clinical functions provided by a skilled nursing facility or a division of a skilled nursing facility.: This position requires license as a Registered Nurse with five years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility. Must be skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Performs in a leadership capacity for clinical practice, supervision, teaching, and research. Coordinates activities of the nursing specialty units under management with other patient care units. Provides oversight and direction in establishing and maintaining a system for developing, reviewing, approving and disseminating standards of clinical practice. Assists in reviewing and making recommendations on policy issues regarding clinical practice within specific nursing disciplines within the organization. Identifies problem areas in areas of responsibility and takes corrective action. Manages daily operations and budget. Develops and coordinates plans and policies, resources, and goals for the department. Ensures compliance with nursing care standards and applicable laws, regulations, and/or institution rules, standards and guidelines. Hires, trains and motivates a competent nursing staff.

Skilled Nursing Certified Nursing Assistant

Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in a skilled nursing facility by performing the following functions for patients: dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, providing oral care, providing nail care, providing catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting patients, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, filling linens, and taking out trash. This position typically requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program.: Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Bathes and dresses bed patients, combs hair, and otherwise attends to their comfort and personal appearance. Cleans room and changes bed linen. Takes and records temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Gives medication as directed by Physician or Nurse and makes notation of amount and time given. Gives enemas, douches, massages, and alcohol rubs. Applies hot and cold compresses and hot water bottles. Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Observes patients for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel. Prepares food trays, feeds patients, and records food and liquid intake and output. May give injections.

Skilled Nursing Facility Head

Provides executive management of daily operations of a skilled nursing facility.: Oversees and determines the effectiveness of operations and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Plans, installs, directs, coordinates, and evaluates an administrative management organization within the facility to integrate functions such as fiscal planning and controls, staffing, procurement and storekeeping, grounds and building maintenance, transportation, communication, housekeeping, dietary, and safety programs. Ensures continuity and consistency in delivery and quality of services. Develops and implements an annual business plan that achieves financial goals while meeting reasonable customer expectations. Prepares staffing schedules to ensure that adequate numbers of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of residents. Resolves problems encountered by nursing home staff, medical staff, visitors, or residents. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates the staff and services for the nursing facility. Implements programs and changes to enhance resident satisfaction and provide for new or prospective resident needs. Maintains high occupancy by developing and implementing marketing strategies. Develops, maintains and implements policies and procedures. Hires, trains and motivates a qualified staff. Prepares and manages the operational budget. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies. Maintains and communicates policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility. This position typically requires a college degree in a related field and five years of experience in continuing care operations management.

Laundry Manager Resident Facility

Manages and coordinates activities of a resident facility laundry. Supervises laundry staff and plans laundering schedules. Typically requires supervisory experience within a laundry facility.: Directs workers engaged in receiving, marking, washing, and ironing uniforms or linen in laundry. Determines laundering schedules to provide quick and efficient service. Ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment. Maintains records of operations and preparing reports. Inspects finished laundered articles to ensure conformance to standards. Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available. Orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies. Interprets organization policy to employees and enforces safety regulations. Observes operation of machines and equipment to detect possible malfunctions. Hires, trains, and motivates a qualified laundry services staff. Analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and/or reductions. May allocate operating budgets funds.

Call Center Nurse RN

Provides telephone triage to member of the health plan. Advises and instructs callers on proper health care after assessing the urgency of symptoms or complaints.: Answers telephone inquiries, assesses symptoms and provides assistance to members of the health plan in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Provides clinical nursing evaluation and assessment and instructs callers to seek appropriate medical care. Notifies physician on call with pertinent medical information or if consultation is deemed necessary by nurse. Provides nursing referral to appropriate and available resources, including affiliated services, affiliated medical practice or community resource. Enters data into a computerized database and forwards facsimiles to appropriate health providers. Consults and facilitates after hours communication with physicians, nurses, hospital staff and outside agencies. Communicates with pharmacies and providers to refill medications or to clarify prescriptions. Typically requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with two years of hospital or public health nursing experience. May provide health insurance eligibility, pharmacy benefits, provider information, and other information to callers.

Infusion Therapist RN

Administers IV therapy and infusion treatments and educates patients and caregivers on IV procedures and care. Typically requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with a bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of IV experience is usually required.: Supports the care team in the provision of patient and family care on an identified shift. Chooses and monitors venipuncture and/or catheter insertion sites. Has shift accountability for the assurance of appropriate staffing resources for the provision of quality patient care on an identified shift. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Ensures that patient has necessary solutions and equipment.

Resident Care Coordinator RN

Coordinates the work of all disciplines involved in completing Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and resident care plans according to regulatory requirements and guidelines. Provides assistance to the Nursing Director by providing in-service to staff, assessing competencies, and evaluating nursing staff. Plans, supervises, and evaluates the delivery of resident care and activities. Provides nursing care and ensures that nursing procedures are followed. Reviews resident care plans and conducts interdisciplinary care plan conferences. Typically requires completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of three years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting working with MDS. A valid nursing license is required.: Ensures that medical supplies and equipment are maintained on each unit. Oversees documentation to comply with Medicare or state reimbursement rules. Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that they are properly administered. Interprets resident charts to accurately complete sections of the MDS. Performs quality improvement audits and assists in the implementation of quality assurance measures. Reviews resident charts for contradictions in information and researches any contradictions to determine what is valid. Reviews and investigates complaints and incident reports.

Nurse Manager Acute Care Multiple Units

Manages and supervises staff for several acute care clinical units to include areas such as CCU, ICU, Psychiatric Unit, Burn, Operating Room, Recovery, Labor & Delivery or ER. Typically responsible for 7 days/week, 24 hours/day management. This position typically requires a registered nurse license and a minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience.: Manages and supervises staff for several acute care clinical units to include areas such as CCU, ICU, Psychiatric Unit, Burn, Operating Room, Recovery, Labor & Delivery or ER. Typically responsible for 7 days/week, 24 hours/day management. Assigns duties and coordinates nursing services and support personnel. Plans and supervises patient care. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Observes nursing care to ensure that treatments are administered in accordance with physician's instructions. Assists in establishing policies and procedures related to nursing functions. Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records. Inspects patient areas for cleanliness and comfort. Ensures that appropriate continuing education is maintained. Orders, or directs ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics. Investigates and resolves emergency and problem situations. Contributes to annual budget and monitors expenses. This position typically requires a registered nurse license and a minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience.
