Oncology Executive

Provides leadership in administration, technical direction, and long range planning for the Radiation Oncology Department. This is the top non-physician administrative position within oncology.: Manages the delivery of all radiation oncology services to hospital patients. Coordinates and directs the operational, financial and staffing activities of oncology units. Ensures that quality oncology services are provided in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates outcomes of the department’s strategic plans. Performs regular data analysis of departmental cost reports to identify variances so that areas of focus may be identified and resources may be appropriately deployed. Works closely with the Radiologist (M.D.) to ensure that oncology services are provided in an efficient and effective manner. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Hires, develops and motivates a qualified department staff. Develops policies and procedures, directs technologists and non-technical staff, and ensures adequate staffing for the department. This position requires certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with a minimum of five years of management experience in radiation oncology.

Medical Nurse Oncology

Provides assistance to physician or surgeon in the examination of oncology patient. Provides professional patient care during biopsies. Monitors patients after operations. Requires RN license.: Handles outpatient record keeping. Evaluates, plans, and documents the oncology patient nursing process.

Oncology Nurse

Provides assistance to physician or surgeon in the examination of oncology patient. Provides professional patient care during biopsies. Monitors patients after operations. Requires RN license.: Handles outpatient record keeping. Evaluates, plans, and documents the oncology patient nursing process.

Call Center Nurse RN

Provides telephone triage to member of the health plan. Advises and instructs callers on proper health care after assessing the urgency of symptoms or complaints.: Answers telephone inquiries, assesses symptoms and provides assistance to members of the health plan in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Provides clinical nursing evaluation and assessment and instructs callers to seek appropriate medical care. Notifies physician on call with pertinent medical information or if consultation is deemed necessary by nurse. Provides nursing referral to appropriate and available resources, including affiliated services, affiliated medical practice or community resource. Enters data into a computerized database and forwards facsimiles to appropriate health providers. Consults and facilitates after hours communication with physicians, nurses, hospital staff and outside agencies. Communicates with pharmacies and providers to refill medications or to clarify prescriptions. Typically requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with two years of hospital or public health nursing experience. May provide health insurance eligibility, pharmacy benefits, provider information, and other information to callers.

Nurse Oncology

Provides assistance to physician or surgeon in the examination of oncology patient. Provides professional patient care during biopsies. Monitors patients after operations. Requires RN license.: Handles outpatient record keeping. Evaluates, plans, and documents the oncology patient nursing process.

Infusion Therapist RN

Administers IV therapy and infusion treatments and educates patients and caregivers on IV procedures and care. Typically requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with a bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of IV experience is usually required.: Supports the care team in the provision of patient and family care on an identified shift. Chooses and monitors venipuncture and/or catheter insertion sites. Has shift accountability for the assurance of appropriate staffing resources for the provision of quality patient care on an identified shift. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Ensures that patient has necessary solutions and equipment.

Sewer Line Repairer Tele Grout

Operates mobile television and chemical sealing units to conduct internal inspection of sewer lines and to seal defects for prevention of water infiltration: locates line sections to be inspected, using map, and determines setup procedures. Turns knobs to activate television equipment for video viewing. Adjusts tv camera and monitors controls for optimal clarity and contrast. Locates and identifies infiltration points and sewer defects to determine extent of sewer line damage. Prepares description of each sewer defect, and records pertinent data, including exact location of defect. Photographs screen picture of serious or unusual irregularities, using camera. Determines chemical composition of sealing compound based on type of sealing activity necessary to seal defects, and oversees preparation of compound. Turns control knobs of sealing unit to inflate packer to desired pressure, to air test infiltration point, to determine volume of needed sealing compound, and to pump correct amount of sealing chemicals. Turns air release valve to deflate packer after allowing specified time for sealing compound to set. Communicates with workers, using intercom system, and confers with supervisors to discuss condition of sewer lines, based on television inspection. Services, adjusts, and makes minor repairs to equipment and attachments. Gives directions to workers in efficient and safe use of television and grout, in work methods, and safety precautions. Drives television and grout unit truck.

RN Field Case Manager

Provides ongoing evaluation and nursing case management services, meeting with clients in their homes, work-sites, or physician's or therapist's office. Assesses, evaluates, and analyzes injured workers’ medical and/or vocational status, and develops, coordinates, and implements a viable, realistic service plan. Monitors the progress of the injured/disabled individuals and reports results back to the employer and insurance carrier.: Develops a plan of care for patients from admission to discharge. Monitors individuals’ progress toward desired outcomes through assessments and evaluations. Communicates both in-person and by phone with client, medical providers, attorneys, employers, employees, insurance carriers, etc. Develops and administers education and prevention programs. Develops guidelines for working with patients, healthcare management companies, insurance companies, or other third party payers to determine quality, cost-effective care. Applies all special instructions required by individual insurance carriers and referral sources. Applies all laws and regulations that apply to the provision of rehabilitation services. Testifies when called upon to do so, to substantiate any casework or reports that may be seen as relevant to hearing involving client. Evaluates outcome of patient care. Prepares reports and other required paperwork as documentation of all casework activities. May arrange referrals, consultations, therapeutic services, and confers with other specialists on course of care and treatment.

Lactation RN

Develops, implements and educates patients, families, and staff on proper breast feeding techniques and lactation.: Provides consultation and instruction in basic breast feeding routines and techniques to new mothers, both inpatient and outpatient. Provides support and problem solving to patients experiencing feeding difficulty with infants. This position typically requires a valid license as a Registered Nurse and is typically certified by the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Provides instruction, written information and demonstration of the use of various types of breast pumps and other devices. Schedules outpatient visits and provides consultation for breast feeding problems following discharge. Documents nursing interventions, patient response, effectiveness and complications. Prepares equipment and educates patient and family in proper use. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Documents treatments and assessments in the patient’s medical record. May conduct breast-feeding education classes to the community.
