Product Marketing Engineer

Develops new product ideas and drives them through the development process, including inception, justification, development, product launch, and maturity. Leads the creation of the product business case based on interactions with customers in the consumer market.: Identifies, quantifies, and justifies new product ideas and potential markets. Contributes to the product roadmap and business strategy, and collaborates with others on the company's long-term vision. Creates comprehensive new product business cases that communicate customer needs and key new product parameters to the product development team, while also justifying the financial investment and working to create products that exploit the advantages of the company. Creates new product launch plans that detail the sales collateral and press engagement. Creates sales tools and conducts sales and distributor trainings. Identifies and engages with key customers to drive product adoption. Manages outside resources to create and publish press releases, advertisements, white papers, and conference materials. Forecasts and is accountable for new product revenue, pricing strategies, and end-of-life activities.

Director Product Development

Directs, coordinates, and administers the planning, research, and development function improving existing or creating new products, processes, services, ideologies, territorial expansion, and/or development of new ventures for an organization. Plans and formulates aspects of research and development proposals, such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements. This position typically reports to the Research Top Officer or Product Development Top Officer, and the Research and Development Manager normally reports to this position.: Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Submits proposals considered feasible to management for further consideration and recommends allocation of funds to support them. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project. Conducts testing and pilot runs for new or improved products or services. Prepares reports on progress and recommends the addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects. Prepares and administers research and development budget. May recruit, hire, and train department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop goals and objectives for staff. May negotiate contracts with consulting firms to perform research studies.

Product Designer

Designs plans, prototypes, and creates patterns of new products according to specifications. Writes specifications for materials, taking into account cost and production limitations. : Stays abreast of product and design trends, as well as new development processes. May work with computer-assisted drafting or design programs.

Assembler Product (Bench)

Assembles by hand or using hand tools or portable powered tools or operates equipment as necessary to produce or process products.: Products may include but are not limited to small products, light subassemblies, and/or complete units of a smaller size. Loads and unloads previously setup machines, such as arbor presses, drill presses, taps, spot-welding machines, riveting machines, milling machines, or broaches, to perform fastening, force fitting, or light metal-cutting operation on assembly line. May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor. May be part of a crew and assist skilled operators in performance of skilled function. May work at bench as member of assembly group that processes or assembles one or two specific parts and passes unit to another worker. May be known according to product assembled. May repair units that fail to meet specifications.

Product Assembler (Machine)

Assembles products according to customer's needs, following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. Plans assembly procedures, following specifications and using knowledge gained by experience. This position is viewed as skilled and is distinguished from the Product Assembler (Bench) as it requires more training and experience, generally one to two years, to perform the activities. May require some vocational school training.: Operates production line equipment of a level of complexity requiring the specified training or assembling products, units, machines, equipment, and/or subassemblies that are larger, heavier, and/or more complex than those assembled by Product Assembler (Bench). Mounts and connects auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment; cuts and fits pipe and tubing. Removes small quantities of metal, using hand files or portable grinders, to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts. Drills, taps, or reams holes, using drill press or portable drill. Aligns components, and bolts, screws, or rivets them together, using hand tools or portable powered tools. Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement. May bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems. May align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears. May operate drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. May test or assist in testing operation of completed product.

Product Development - Health Care Manager

Manages, coordinates, and provides strategic planning of activities concerned with research and development of new or improved concepts, ideas, basic data on, and applications for health care products, services, or ideologies including research and development programs. Manages the research, identification, evaluation, and initial development of new health care products or services.: Plans and formulates aspects of research and development proposals, such as objective or purpose of projects, applications that can be utilized from findings, cost of projects, and equipment and manpower requirements. Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and recommends allocation of funds from department budget. Monitors projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences in order to inform management of current status of each project. Reports revenue and profitability to upper management. Keeps current on competitors' products and services. May assume responsibility for the overall implementation of new health care products or services and/or improvement of existing products or services. May engage market research firms to perform studies.

Associate Product Manager

Provides product management and marketing support in accordance with the strategy developed by the Product Manager. Assists in managing the research and development staff and programs with improvement and cost reduction ideas and the introduction of products, processes, and services. Assists in the development of the marketing plan of the product, processes, and services. Recommends potential of new, or ways to improve existing, products, processes, and services.: Researches products, processes, and/or services of comparable competitors. Reviews and evaluates research results and makes appropriate recommendations to management. Tracks and evaluates product performance. Manages individual product-focused projects (prioritization of engineering work, product definitions, etc.) and inventory management and control in conjunction with operations. Develops and recommends specific marketing objectives and forecast for products or processes. Manages the execution of authorized marketing programs to achieve or exceed sales volume and profit margin requirements. Keeps up-to-date in new developments in the field. Analyzes and reports data patterns which affect the marketing of the products, processes, or services. Makes recommendations to enhance the functionality and profitability of the products, processes, or services. Keeps management informed of product updates and on progress of projects. Develops and monitors project budgets and schedules. Controls research expenditures within approved budget limitations. Reviews and evaluates research results. Prepares reports on progress and recommends the addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects or programs. Develops and maintains relationships with management and sales representatives. May manage activities that are directly related to the product, including sales and customer support. May recruit, hire, and train department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop goals and objectives for staff.7

Product Manager

Manages and administers product planning, design, development, documentation, and execution throughout the product lifecycle. Gathers and prioritizes product and customer requirements, defines the product vision, and works closely with R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and support to conform to the company’s quality system procedures for design control and to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Ensures that the product, and possibly the marketing efforts, supports the company's overall strategy and goals.: Defines the product strategy and roadmap. Delivers product requirement documents and marketing requirement documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification. Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples. Develops the core positioning and messaging for the product. Performs product demos to customers. Maintains expertise with respect to the competition. Acts as a leader within the company. May work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. May set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals, develop sales tools and collateral, and brief and train the sales force.

Product Marketing Manager

Provides product line support for marketing program strategy, sales support, and channel support. Interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Business Operations, Business Development, and direct customers. Uses strong presentation skills, adept business knowledge, and organizational abilities to bridge customer business requirements to technical feature set and broader market trends, indices, and capabilities. Develops strategic marketing plans for a product or product line through market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, and business planning.: Develops new product feature and functionality in partnership with Engineering. Participates and acts as Marketing's primary advocate on cross functional development teams. Provides customer use case examples to Engineering and communicates customer feedback and requirements to Research and Development. Drives new business and opportunities for the Business Unit and Technology Group. Drives resolution of customer satisfaction issues. Manages issues associated with ordering of product, systems and tools, and manufacturing supply. Forecasts and helps drive opportunities for product lines. Identifies areas for growth and creates strategic product line roadmaps to help drive adoption of the product and differentiating features. Drives and develops material for multiple product or service launches including press releases, launch materials, customer presentations, videos, and sales training materials. Develops and drives competitive marketing campaigns to ensure organization’s market share and profitability. Collaborates cross-functionally on competitive selling, pricing, market development and field solutions.

Assistant Product Manager

Assists Product Manager in product planning, design, development, and execution. Manages project plans and schedules. Coordinates and communicates project plan to internal key stakeholders.: Provides regular support to Sales, Supply Chain, and Customer Service regarding customer issues, allocation issues, and inventory management. Assists in the management of short-term supply issues. Maintains vendor and contact records. Updates and maintains vendor product samples and catalogs. Assists in development of promotional materials, media kits, and sales training information. Generates and analyzes sales, promotional, and market reports. Identifies and recommends product development priorities based on consumer research and insights. Assists in continuing development of systems to facilitate the product development process. May represent company at tradeshows.
