Medical Practice Administrator

Directs the overall operation and provides executive leadership in a medical group/physician practice.: Responsible for the overall direction of the medical group to include patient care, physician employment, strategic planning, marketing, and financial performance. Establishes strategic plans and guides implementation. Confers with executive management to plan operational objectives, to develop policies and procedures, to coordinate functions and operations between divisions, departments and satellite locations, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives. Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Directs and coordinates formulation of financial programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations and guides changes needed to reach financial goals. Represents the organization to major external authorities and constituencies. Plans and develops policies designed to improve the organization's image and relations with patients, providers, employees, and the general public. Selects and evaluates performance of executive staff for compliance with established policies and objectives and contributions in attaining objectives. An advanced degree in a field of health or business is typically required for this position.

Medical Practice Manager

Oversees the daily operations of the medical practice, including hiring, terminations, training, managing employees, handling the revenue cycle, credentialing, and contract negotiations. Serves as the overall business manager and liaison to the physicians. : Troubleshoots problems and develops recommendations for resolution. Monitors staff performance and facilitates effective teamwork. Manages new and existing managed care contracts. Prepares and analyzes financial and practice activity reports. Assists in marketing and expansion related issues. Performs, supervises, coordinates, and/or monitors the work activity related to patient injuries, self-pay collections, and payment posting. Oversees the annual operating budget and develops business goals. Approves vendor lists and processes procurement items for the physician office. Acts as liaison with landlord and real estate services resolving issues/concerns with property/facility. Submits accurate and timely payroll information. Processes all accounts payable information. Performs administrative duties to ensure the efficiency of the office practice. Identifies, establishes, and evaluates quality assurance and compliance within the office practice, in keeping with the hospital policy and procedures.

Practice Manager

Manages and oversees the clinical, financial, and administrative functions of a medical practice. Manages general administrative and clinical responsibilities of the office and directs work of the clerical and nursing staff, assigning specific tasks and responsibilities as needed. Plans, manages, and evaluates the daily operations and resources of the practice in a manner that is fiscally responsible, in accordance with policies and standards, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.: Anticipates personnel needs, and recruits and effectively employs part-time and contractual personnel as needed. Implements new programs and procedures to improve services, operations, and efficiency and to respond to changes within the institution and the external environment. Oversees the financial and clerical functions of the office in conjunction with hospital and medical policy. Oversees the coordination of clinical and clerical integration in conjunction with the practice providers and mid-level providers. Identifies and assists in efficient resolution of problems. Assumes responsibility for maintaining quality service, financial stability, public relations, and widening the base of the program. Participates in the development and implementation of business information policies and budget management processes.

Physician General Practice

Diagnoses and treats variety of diseases and injuries in general practice. Conducts fitness physical examinations. Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.: Attends to patients in clinic or hospital, and reexamines disability cases periodically to verify progress. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mother and infant. Oversees maintenance of case histories, health examination reports, and other medical records. Formulates and administers health programs. Inspects and makes recommendations regarding sanitation and elimination of health hazards. Reports births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs minor surgery. May make house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit office or clinic. May conduct physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.

Family Practice Physician

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on a continuing basis. Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment. Elicits and records information about patient's medical history. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.: Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.

Physician Family

Physician Pulmonary Medicine

Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the lung and chest cavity. Treats disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, cancer, and sleep disorders.: Performs special procedures including exercise pulmonary testing, fiber-optic bronchoscopy, pleural biopsy/chest tap, preoperative evaluation, pulmonary function testing (PFT's), pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine, influenza vaccine, arterial blood gas analysis (ABG's), ventilation and perfusion lung scan, interpretation of the tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and sleep studies.

Emergency Room Physician

Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries immediately in response to acute illness and injury. Examines patient to determine medical problem, using physical findings, diagnostic images, laboratory test results, and patient's statements as diagnostic aids.: Refers patient to surgeon or other specialist when need for further medical assistance is indicated.

Family Physician

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on a continuing basis. Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment. Elicits and records information about patient's medical history. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.: Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.

Physician Internal Medicine

Diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems. Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders and determines nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and tests, and using medical instruments and equipment.: Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity program, as indicated by diagnosis. Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated.
