Physician Assistant

Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Physician Practices Executive

Directs and oversees the physician practices operations. Creates and executes strategic plans and provides business development around physician services in particular. Assesses the various physician practices and designs and implements programs to increase revenue and improve and enhance physician services overall. Monitors and manages compliance issues and budget variances. Oversees a large staff, including Medical Secretaries, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Office Managers, and others.: Completes the annual operating and capital budgets with the Executive Director and the Budget Manager. Collaborates with Physicians and clinical staff to address and respond to patient care needs and issues. Implements new operational models and structures to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance service to patients. Participates in committees, as assigned. Provides leadership to the Operations Team.

Organizes, directs and controls the operations of an integrated physician/hospital network that provides contracting opportunities for managed care payers.: Organizes, directs and controls the entire provider network function including network development, contracting, credentialing, provider relations, and provider services. Establishes physician and hospital recruitment priorities, determines compensation methodologies and negotiates contracts. Ensures a comprehensive, cost-effective, and accessible provider network. Responsible for developing and implementing an integrated network of affiliated Physicians for the organization. Establishes Physician recruitment priorities, determines compensation methodologies, and negotiates Physician contracts. Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a health related field and five years of experience in health care.: Identifies, develops, and maintains recruitment sources. Maintains current knowledge of national and regional compensation trends for various Physician specialties. Develops staffing plans and projections. Develops and maintains a network of relationships with leaders involved in the integrated network of Physicians. Hires, develops, and motivates Physician Recruiters. Physician

Diagnoses and treats variety of diseases and injuries in general practice. Conducts fitness physical examinations. Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.: Attends to patients in clinic or hospital, and reexamines disability cases periodically to verify progress. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mother and infant. Oversees maintenance of case histories, health examination reports, and other medical records. Formulates and administers health programs. Inspects and makes recommendations regarding sanitation and elimination of health hazards. Reports births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs minor surgery. May make house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit office or clinic. May conduct physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.

Internal Medicine Physician

Diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems. Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders and determines nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and tests, and using medical instruments and equipment.: Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity program, as indicated by diagnosis. Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated.

Pulmonary Medicine Physician

Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the lung and chest cavity. Treats disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, cancer, and sleep disorders.: Performs special procedures including exercise pulmonary testing, fiber-optic bronchoscopy, pleural biopsy/chest tap, preoperative evaluation, pulmonary function testing (PFT's), pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine, influenza vaccine, arterial blood gas analysis (ABG's), ventilation and perfusion lung scan, interpretation of the tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and sleep studies.

Rehabilitation Medicine Physician

Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic disabilities and with the restoration of normal functioning to those disabled with muscle, bone, or nervous problems. Provides help in rehabilitating patients disabled by acute and chronic pain or musculoskeletal ailments affecting the motor functions of the body caused by muscle and limb disorders, stroke aftereffects, and other crippling conditions.: Tests patients in areas such as muscle strength, degree of joint mobility, breathing capacity, and muscular coordination. Provides assistance in the areas of pain relief, improvement or maintenance of functions, such as strength and mobility, and training in the most effective method of performing essential activities. Prescribes therapeutic modes of treatment, such as exercise, ice, heat, massage, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and functional training. May prescribe antibiotics, psychological counseling, occupational therapy, and a variety of other treatments that may be used in concert to help the patient achieve the fullest possible life.
