Respiratory Therapy Director

Plans, directs, and monitors operations, functions, and resources of the Respiratory Therapy Department to assure optimal and safe patient care in the delivery of respiratory care services. Directs and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures. Develops professional standards and outcome measurements to assure sound clinical practice and adherence to regulatory agency standards. Serves as a liaison between medical staff and administration. Evaluates patient care plans. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet service levels. Prepares and monitors the departmental budget.

Physical Facilities Director

Develops and implements programs to maximize the utilization of facility assets. Develops short- and long-range facility utilization plans for facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a technical area such as architecture, engineering, or related field and five years of related management experience.: Establishes policies, procedures, programs, and budgets to assure effective maintenance of the facility in accordance with regulatory requirements. Serves as a liaison between the end user and the principle processes of operations and maintenance, engineering, energy, and physical safety. Manages and oversees design development for remodeling or build out space with consultants and internal resources. Plans and oversees moves and ensures correct code compliance. Ensures that new or remodeled office spaces are complete with appropriate phone service and furniture and that janitorial services are adequate. Assists with lease acquisition and/or negotiation. Develops and implements policies and building standards for external resources assisting with projects. Maintains space and furniture/equipment inventories. Reviews and recommends space standards. Hires, trains, and motivates a qualified maintenance staff.

Physical Therapy Director

Directs the programs and staff of the Physical Therapy Department that treats disabled, injured, or diseased patients to improve or restore physical functioning, relieve pain, and prevent physical dysfunction. Assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, a current license, and five years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist.: Establishes standards for therapy and patient participation. Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of the physical therapy clinic service delivery system within assigned area. Monitors treatment and patient progress. Plans and develops staff in-service training and conducts orientation for new personnel. Plans and schedules work for assigned areas, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space, and facilities for performance of duties. Develops recommendations for appropriate care and coordinates implementation of those recommendations. Prepares reports and presents appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Hires, motivates, and develops a qualified physical therapy staff. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Monitors resources utilized in the service delivery process and oversees procurement of required equipment and supplies.

Architectural Job Captain

Coordinates and prepares design development and construction documents for architectural projects. Assists with client interaction and consultant coordination processes. Assists the Architectural Project Manager and others in the team to deliver a quality product on schedule and within the project budget and the budgeted hours provided for in the work plan.: Assists Architectural Project Manager with client and project coordination and management. Manages projects of limited scope under supervision. Supervises architectural staff and personnel. Provides data for evaluation of budget compliance and project billings. Advises Architectural Project Manager of need for additional service. Coordinates architectural construction document preparation. Analyzes building/zoning code. Ensures compliance with design intent and coordination with specification. Prepares architectural plans and rendering. Assists with the development of details and the organization of construction drawings. Integrates design and technical aspects of projects. Reviews work of consultants for coordination purposes. Interfaces with client and building agencies. Responds to bid inquiries regarding pre-bid approvals and prepares addenda. Provides assistance in construction administration. Prepares project correspondence. Conducts on-site observations as directed by Architectural Project Manager and prepares observation reports when appropriate. Reviews submittals as needed. Assists in project close-out efforts including punch lists. Meets with governmental agencies or officials as needed. Serves as a technical team lead. Manages and maintains project electronic files.

Physical Fitness Supervisor

Develops and promotes a wellness recreation program in private health club or gymnasium to improve health and physical fitness of individuals and improve fitness and to reduce the incidents of illness and disease. Typically reports to a manager and coordinates activities of recreation service personnel. To carry out the responsibilities at this level typically requires a degree in physical education.: Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment. Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in activity. Observes participants during workout to detect and correct mistakes. Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations. Teaches and demonstrates to individuals or groups beginning or advanced calisthenics and reducing or corrective exercises evaluating abilities of individual to determine suitable training program. Adapts recreation programs to meet needs of individual sponsor agency or institution. Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff. Trains personnel and evaluates performance. Interprets recreation services in meetings and organizational planning. May work in team with administrative or other professional personnel, such as those engaged in medicine, benefits, nursing, psychology, and therapy, to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated, and integrated with special services.

Technician Physical Therapy

Administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of, and as assistant to, Physical Therapist. Administers active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments, such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs. Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain, using intermittent and static traction equipment. Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities, such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities. Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to Physical Therapist. : Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs. Gives orientation to new Physical Therapist Assistants and directs and gives instructions to Physical Therapy Aides. Performs clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms. May measure patient's range-of-joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments or to assist Physical Therapist to compile data for patient evaluations. May monitor treatments administered by Physical Therapy Aides.

Manager Physical Therapy

Plans and administers prescribed physical therapy treatment program for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following illness, disease, or injury. Position requires minimum of bachelor's degree in physical therapy, supervisory experience, and eligibility for state licensure. Provides direction and supervision for physical therapy staff.: Ensures quality care in accordance with national, state, hospital, and department standards. Collaborates with rehabilitation team and other hospital departments to coordinate treatment programs. Consults with head therapists on specific therapy problems. Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff members. Assists in formulating program budget. Engages in studies and investigations related to improving physical therapy program. May engage in hands-on treatment including patient education and motivation.

Prepares patients for physical therapy treatments, assists Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant during administration of treatments, and provides routine treatments. Assists patients to dress, undress, and put on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, and slings, before and after treatments. Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.: Safeguards, motivates, and assists patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff. Provides routine treatments, such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, and paraffin bath. Transports patients to and from treatment area. Cleans work area and equipment after treatment. May record treatment given and equipment used. May inventory and requisition supplies and equipment. May adjust fit of supportive devices for patients, as instructed. May be assigned to specific type of treatment or patient service.
