Physicians Aide

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician. Directs and oversees the physician practices operations. Creates and executes strategic plans and provides business development around physician services in particular. Organizes, directs and controls the operations of an integrated physician/hospital network that provides contracting opportunities for managed care payers.: Organizes, directs and controls the entire provider network function including network development, contracting, credentialing, provider relations, and provider services. Establishes physician and hospital recruitment priorities, determines compensation methodologies and negotiates contracts. Ensures a comprehensive, cost-effective, and accessible provider network. Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a health related field and five years of experience in health care.: Identifies, develops, and maintains recruitment sources. Maintains current knowledge of national and regional compensation trends for various Physician specialties. Develops staffing plans and projections. Develops and maintains a network of relationships with leaders involved in the integrated network of Physicians. Hires, develops, and motivates Physician Recruiters. Directs, implements and manages public relations programs to ensure maintenance of effective relationships with physicians within the community.: Directs and oversees programs designed to foster positive relations between physicians and the hospital or healthcare system. Actively promotes the organization among members of the medical community to establish partnerships and affiliations. Works with hospital leadership to establish short- and long-term strategic objectives that will achieve profits, growth, or other goals of the organization. Identifies strategic objectives for physician relations and communicates those objectives to subordinate management and staff. Uses knowledge of hospital/physician practice industry trends and related strategies to enhance the competitive position of the Hospital or healthcare system and its affiliated physician practices. Leverages positive change to enhance physician recruitment and retention. Develops strong, close working relationships with key physician stakeholders to positively influence stakeholders toward positive change in light of strategic imperatives. Develops strategic plans, market assessment, facility/site planning to support the Hospital or healthcare system in its strategy for continued expansion of primary care and other key specialties within the patient service area. This position may require experience in physician contracting, reimbursement and incentive models to promote goal congruence among physicians and other key stakeholders as well as physician satisfaction. Achieves desired results through the use of budgets, proper contracts, and efficient decision making. This position typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
