Directs activities, either directly or through subordinates, concerned with sales of products or services of a highly complex nature. Plans, develops, establishes, and implements policies, procedures, and objectives of technical sales function in accordance with objectives of organization. Confers with organization officials to plan technical sales objectives, to develop sales policies, and to coordinate functions. Develops and maintains accounts and responds to bids and proposals. Targets and develops clients through existing database and contacts, advertising resources, and the Internet. Meets with clients to evaluate their technical needs and to recommend and provide consulting solutions.: Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Evaluates the market position of competing technical products, services, and organizations and their marketing and sales techniques. Devises sales strategies and promotions to obtain maximum sales volume. Forecasts semi-annual and annual sales projections. Directs preparation of required reports. Interprets and enforces company policy and practices. Ensures the adequacy of sales training programs. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Sells new wireless products and services. Assists new and existing customers with the purchase of wireless equipment and services. Presents products and services to prospective customers through demonstrations and development of wireless communications solutions.: Prospects and generates new sales opportunities. Conducts all required processes and procedures to implement new service upon completion of sale. Initiates follow-up contact with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with all products and services purchased. Participates in the development and execution of promotional activities. Controls equipment to intercept, locate, identify, and record radio transmissions of enemy or potential enemy: tunes receiver over assigned frequency band. Obtains bearings on source of transmission, using electronic direction-finding equipment. Informs location plotters of bearings obtained to locate and identify station. Monitors stations, records intercepted transmissions, and forwards transcripts for decoding. May operate sound-recording equipment to preserve broadcast for analysis by other intelligence personnel.
Plans and directs research into proposed problem solutions or courses of action to determine feasibility of military planning alternatives: confers with military leaders and supporting personnel to determine dimensions of problem and discuss proposals for solution. Tends battery of automatic machines that flame-cut and form vials for level from glass tubing: inserts tubing in holder to feed machine. Replenishes tubing and replaces fill catch boxes. Examines formed glasses for defects, such as unclosed bottoms, elongated tops or misshapen vials, and notifies machine adjuster of machine malfunctioning. Removes formed glasses to workbench and files points from glasses to leave opening for filling, using half-round file.
Tends equipment that fills glass vials with alcohol or ether solution and leaves air bubble to form vials used in tools and instruments to determine levelness: fills rack with vial-filled cups and lowers rack into tank of solution. Lowers weighted glass cover and moves lever to turn on air pressure. Sets timer for designated time cycle. Shuts off air and raises cover when bell rings. Compares bubbles in random sampling of filled vials with master vial for conformance to size. Refills vials or lets vials stand to evaporate excess fluid to regulate size of bubble. Pours solution from jug into tank to replace used fluid.

Performs analysis to validate the accuracy of data being reported and provides trend and early-warning analysis. Monitors, tracks, and understands industry trends and the factors that drive them.
Supervises data entry operators engaged in inputting data into various storage media, manipulating existing data, editing data, and proofing new entries into database for accuracy. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policies and practices. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. Ensures work is performed within established policies, procedures, and standards.: Consults with data processing personnel on ways to expedite workflow and improve productivity. Confers with user departments to implement controls and schedules and resolve delivery problems. Advises management on problems relating to data entry. Manages the promotion and direction of the sales or service activities among customers or prospects of small businesses in a region. Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns.: Ensures that representatives keep informed of changes in territories that might affect product sales. Holds sales meetings. Makes forecasts on anticipated market sales. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist in promoting sales. Studies schedules and estimates time, cost, and labor estimates for completion of job assignments. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or sales activities. Represents organization at industry association meetings and trade shows to promote product. Acts as liaison between sales and other departments. Participates in budget preparation. Assists other departments within establishment to prepare manuals and technical publications. Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volumes and potential sales. Interprets organization policy to ensure organization objectives are met. Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line. Promotes satisfactory customer relations. Works closely with organization personnel to ensure prompt service to customers. Keeps informed on organization contract procedures and product pricing. May direct staffing and training to develop sales program.
