Pediatric Nurse

Manages the care of infants, toddlers, preschool, school age or adolescent patients experiencing general medical conditions or surgical procedures that require interventions and general assessments related to specific conditions.: Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent patient's immediate condition or needs within a timeframe specified by policies, procedures or protocols. Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by the infant, toddler, preschool, school-age or adolescent patient's condition and reprioritizes care accordingly. Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to pediatric resuscitation protocols. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient. Organizes and updates the patient medical record. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Calls pharmacy to authorize prescription refills. This position requires license as a Registered Nurse and previous pediatric medical surgical nursing experience. Assists in instructing patient and family in home programs as well as care and use of adaptive equipment. Prepares work materials, assists in maintenance of equipment, and orders supplies. This position requires an Associate's degree in an occupational therapy assistant program required and certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. May be responsible for maintaining observed information in client records and preparing reports. May teach basic living skills to institutionalized, mentally retarded adults. May assist Educational Specialist or Clinical Psychologist in administering situational or diagnostic tests to measure client's abilities or progress.

Nurse Supervisor of Occupational Health
