Occupational Health-Workers Comp Director

Plans, directs, implements, and administers ongoing improvement of occupational health and worker's compensation services in a health plan. Manages the Occupational Health-Worker's Compensation staff and implements strategies relative to the development and management of related services. Designs and implements programs to maintain positive relationships between the health plan, physicians, providers, and practice managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in occupational health with seven years of related health plan experience.: Participates in weekly patient case conferences with Medical Director, Occupational Health, and Worker's Compensation providers. Occupational Health-Workers Comp Manager

Oversees and manages the delivery of patient care for Occupational Health Services/Employee Health, ensuring that patient care is provided according to established standards of care and practice. Consults with physicians regarding patient assessments, care provided, new services, and other relevant information.: Leads and manages the Occupational Health team including providing direction and guidance to the Medical Director. Develops and coordinates regional internal and external occupational health resources. Collaborates with others to anticipate and control occupational health risks and meet OSHA regulatory and governance requirements. Facilitates strategic vendor partnerships for organization's Occupational Health management systems. Develops and reports quality assurance, quality control, and performance metrics to demonstrate positive outcomes for both corporate and regional occupational health programs.

Assists Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant in occupational therapy program in hospital or similar institution. Nurse Supervisor of Occupational Health

Directs employee health services of industrial organization. Interprets plant and departmental health policies and regulations to nursing staff and employees. Coordinates activities of personnel rendering assistance to physician and nursing care to employees. Trains nursing staff in techniques of industrial nursing. Provides testing, evaluation and referral to employees with medical conditions within the hospital, organization, medical facility or clinical office. Gives allergy injections and sponsored immunizations to employees. Evaluates employees with medical conditions and provides appropriate referral for medical services. Actively initiates and coordinates programs and provides corrective measure to promote wellness and protect the health of employees. Administers tuberculosis testing. Ensures compliance with various agency requirements pertaining to occupational health and safety. May conduct pre-employment and scheduled drug screening. Typically requires licensure as a Registered Nurse with two years of clinical experience.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Assists Occupational Therapist in administering occupational therapy program in hospital, related facility, or community setting for physically, developmentally, mentally disabled, or emotionally disabled clients. Assists in evaluation of clients' daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations. Assists in planning and implementing educational, vocational, and recreational programs and activities established by registered Occupational Therapist, designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance task performances, diminish or correct pathology, and to promote and maintain health and self-sufficiency. May require certification.: Designs and adapts equipment and working-living environment. Fabricates splints and other assistant devices. Reports information and observations to supervisor. Carries out general activity program for individuals or groups. Assists in instructing patient and family in home programs as well as care and use of adaptive equipment. Prepares work materials, assists in maintenance of equipment, and orders supplies. May be responsible for maintaining observed information in client records and preparing reports. May teach basic living skills to institutionalized, developmentally disabled adults. May assist social worker or psychologist in administering situational or diagnostic tests to measure client's abilities or progress.

Occupational Therapist Director

Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates subordinate staff and occupational therapy program in hospital, institution, or community setting to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled. To carry out responsibilities at this level typically requires a four-year degree.: Plans program involving activities, such as manual arts and crafts; practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, and activities of daily living; and participation in sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients or disabled people develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities. May conduct training programs or participate in training medical and nursing students and other workers in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.

Occupational Medicine Physician

Specializes in the treatment of work-related diseases and injuries that occurred at work.: Develops and implements an occupational health program at a hospital or clinic setting or within established clinical groups. Examines patient and develops a patient care plan based on evaluation. Reviews reports of patient's general physical condition, reactions to medications, and medical history. Conducts physical examinations, program design, health promotion, epidemiologic studies, and hazard consultation. Provides treatment of injuries and communication of the return-to-work status to the client industry. Services may expand to the full range of occupational and environmental health services. This position requires a licensed Medical Doctor in internal medicine with specialized training in occupational medicine. May serve as a consultant to industry.
