Executive Director Nurses Association

Administers program of professional nurses' association, as formulated by board of directors and association members: participates in establishing objectives and policies of association, and interprets program to members and general public at general and professional meetings. Assists in organizing committees and aids in attaining objectives in such matters as legislation affecting nursing, employment conditions, health programs, and research designed to facilitate professional growth and efficiency. Publicizes program of association through various media.

Infusion Therapist RN

Administers IV therapy and infusion treatments and educates patients and caregivers on IV procedures and care. Typically requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with a bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of IV experience is usually required.: Supports the care team in the provision of patient and family care on an identified shift. Chooses and monitors venipuncture and/or catheter insertion sites. Has shift accountability for the assurance of appropriate staffing resources for the provision of quality patient care on an identified shift. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Ensures that patient has necessary solutions and equipment.

Resident Care Coordinator RN

Coordinates the work of all disciplines involved in completing Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and resident care plans according to regulatory requirements and guidelines. Provides assistance to the Nursing Director by providing in-service to staff, assessing competencies, and evaluating nursing staff. Plans, supervises, and evaluates the delivery of resident care and activities. Provides nursing care and ensures that nursing procedures are followed. Reviews resident care plans and conducts interdisciplinary care plan conferences. Typically requires completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of three years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting working with MDS. A valid nursing license is required.: Ensures that medical supplies and equipment are maintained on each unit. Oversees documentation to comply with Medicare or state reimbursement rules. Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that they are properly administered. Interprets resident charts to accurately complete sections of the MDS. Performs quality improvement audits and assists in the implementation of quality assurance measures. Reviews resident charts for contradictions in information and researches any contradictions to determine what is valid. Reviews and investigates complaints and incident reports.

Call Center Nurse RN

Provides telephone triage to member of the health plan. Advises and instructs callers on proper health care after assessing the urgency of symptoms or complaints.: Answers telephone inquiries, assesses symptoms and provides assistance to members of the health plan in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Provides clinical nursing evaluation and assessment and instructs callers to seek appropriate medical care. Notifies physician on call with pertinent medical information or if consultation is deemed necessary by nurse. Provides nursing referral to appropriate and available resources, including affiliated services, affiliated medical practice or community resource. Enters data into a computerized database and forwards facsimiles to appropriate health providers. Consults and facilitates after hours communication with physicians, nurses, hospital staff and outside agencies. Communicates with pharmacies and providers to refill medications or to clarify prescriptions. Typically requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with two years of hospital or public health nursing experience. May provide health insurance eligibility, pharmacy benefits, provider information, and other information to callers.

Nurses Registry Director

Directs registry services for nurses, private duty according to regulations established by state or district professional nurses' association: maintains roster of nurses available for duty. Refers nurses in response to requests. Keeps record of number and type of calls received. Analyzes problems of registry to render more efficient service and operations. Informs registrants of new and revised requirements and regulations. May assist in recruiting nurses for emergencies. May be responsible for financial administration of registry.

RN

Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital, nursing home, infirmary, or similar health care facility. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. May prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and hand items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner. May make beds, bathe, and feed patients. May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.

Develops, implements and educates patients, families, and staff on proper breast feeding techniques and lactation.: Provides consultation and instruction in basic breast feeding routines and techniques to new mothers, both inpatient and outpatient. Provides support and problem solving to patients experiencing feeding difficulty with infants. This position typically requires a valid license as a Registered Nurse and is typically certified by the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Provides instruction, written information and demonstration of the use of various types of breast pumps and other devices. Schedules outpatient visits and provides consultation for breast feeding problems following discharge. Documents nursing interventions, patient response, effectiveness and complications. Prepares equipment and educates patient and family in proper use. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Documents treatments and assessments in the patient’s medical record. May conduct breast-feeding education classes to the community.

Counselor Nurses Association

Offers vocational, educational, and professional counseling to registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses, and prospective professional and practical nurse students: compiles credentials and prepares biographies of counselees. Provides information relative to qualifications required, opportunities for placement and advancement, wages, hours, and other data pertaining to selected field of work to assist nurses in determining educational and vocational objectives. Refers qualified nurses to employers for placement. Assists in establishing personnel policies relative to placement. Aids applicants in obtaining vocational, health, or other assistance from community agencies. May assist in recruitment.

Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in a skilled nursing facility by performing the following functions for patients: dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, providing oral care, providing nail care, providing catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting patients, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, filling linens, and taking out trash. This position typically requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program.: Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care in a skilled nursing facility by performing the following functions for patients: dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, providing oral care, providing nail care, providing catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting patients, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, and filling linens. This position typically requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program. Promptly answers patient call bells. Bathes and dresses bed patients, combs hair, and otherwise attends to their comfort and personal appearance. Cleans room and changes bed linen. Takes and records temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Gives medication as directed by Physician or Nurse and makes notation of amount and time given. Gives enemas, douches, massages, and alcohol rubs. Applies hot and cold compresses and hot water bottles. Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Observes patients for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel. Prepares food trays, feeds patients, and records food and liquid intake and output. May give injections.
