University President

Coordinates dissemination of information on courses offered and procedures students are required to follow in order to obtain grade transcripts. Issues official transcripts. Coordinates class schedules with room assignments for optimum use of buildings and equipment. May assign rooms for student activities.

Manager Business College/University

Administers business affairs of college or university and prepares operating budget draft for submission to board of trustees. Directs control of budget upon its approval by board, including collection, custody, investment, disbursement, accounting, and auditing of all college funds. Formulates, with Director Student Services, policies and procedures governing financial relations with students, dormitories, cafeterias, bookstores, and recreational and parking facilities. : Audits financial status of student organization accounts, campus food services, housing, and bookstores. Formulates and administers policies and procedures for development and management of physical plant, including custodial care, sanitation, and fire and police protection. Negotiates with industry representatives on costs and materials for building construction. Develops policies and procedures for procurement of goods and nonpersonal services for university. Coordinates service operations, such as printing, duplicating, mail and messenger service, bindery, and machine computing and tabulating. Recruits, supervises, and oversees training of clerical staff.

Laboratory Supervisor University

Coordinates activities of university science laboratory to assist faculty in teaching and research programs. Consults with faculty laboratory coordinator to determine equipment purchase priorities based on budget allowances, condition of existing equipment, and scheduled laboratory activities. : Prepares and puts in place equipment scheduled for use during laboratory teaching sessions. Demonstrates care and use of equipment to teaching assistants. Builds prototype equipment, applying electromechanical knowledge and using hand tools and power tools. Trains teaching staff and students in application and use of new equipment. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and dismantles and repairs equipment, applying knowledge of shop mechanics and using gauges, meters, hand tools, and power tools. Develops methods of laboratory experimentation, applying knowledge of scientific theory and computer capability. Confers with teaching staff periodically to evaluate new equipment and methods. Teaches laboratory sessions in absence of teaching assistant.

Nurse Call Center Manager

Manages a nurse triage call center operation (that is typically open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to ensure provision of quality telephonic nursing services in support of a health plan.: Hires and develops a qualified staff of nurses that provide clinical assessments, health education and referrals to health plan members. Plans, implements and analyzes a quality assurance program. Develops and monitors a departmental budget. Collects and analyzes data in support of the department to illustrate the contribution in savings of the service provided. Facilitates software contracting and maintenance for triage protocol software. Requires a Registered Nurse with two or more years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is typically desired.

Medical Nurse Shift Supervisor

Plans, organizes, and directs activities for the duration of one shift of hospital nursing unit. Observes techniques of, and services rendered by, nursing staff or provides nursing care for patients in unit. Demonstrates techniques for nursing students and/or new personnel to provide training and direction. Requires RN license.: Identifies problem areas in nursing unit, such as understaffing, absenteeism, and wastefulness, and takes corrective action. Monitors use of supplies and equipment to avoid abuses and requisitions supplies. Responds to various departments requesting emergency assistance and assigns staff accordingly during emergencies. Prepares work schedule and assigns duties to nursing staff in unit for efficient use of personnel.

Medical Nursing Supervisor

Supervises, directs, and coordinates, nursing activities and personnel in one or more patient care units. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and that treatment administered in accordance with physician's instructions. Requires RN license and nursing experience.: Inspects rooms and wards for cleanliness and comfort. Keeps informed of special orders concerning patients. Requires RN license.: Participates in planning and executing health information programs designed to improve efficiency and reduce absentee and accident rates. Assists workers in securing medical or other aid. Establishes work schedules for nursing staff and requisitions supplies. May conduct classes in first aid and home nursing for employees. May recommend appointment of nursing personnel.

Advises and instructs callers on proper health care after assessing the urgency of symptoms or complaints.: Answers telephone inquiries, assesses symptoms and provides assistance to members of the health plan in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Provides clinical nursing evaluation and assessment and instructs callers to seek appropriate medical care. Notifies physician on call with pertinent medical information or if consultation is deemed necessary by nurse. Provides nursing referral to appropriate and available resources, including affiliated services, affiliated medical practice or community resource. Enters data into a computerized database and forwards facsimiles to appropriate health providers. Consults and facilitates after hours communication with physicians, nurses, hospital staff and outside agencies. Communicates with pharmacies and providers to refill medications or to clarify prescriptions. Typically requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with two years of hospital or public health nursing experience. May provide health insurance eligibility, pharmacy benefits, provider information, and other information to callers.
