Manager Professional Association

Directs and coordinates activities of professional or trade association in accordance with established policies to further achievement of goals, objectives, and standards of profession or association. Typically reports to a director and may have supervisors reporting to this position.: Directs research surveys, compilation, and analysis of factors, such as average income, benefits, standards, and common problems of profession, for presentation to association committees for action. Confers with officers to ensure that membership roster is current and complete and that members receive equal treatment regarding services and information provided by board. Directs or participates in preparation of educational and informative materials for presentation to membership or public in newsletters, magazines, news releases, or on radio or television. Provides information and technical assistance to members, clients of members, or public, relating to business operations. Represents association in negotiations with representatives of government, business, labor, and other organizations, and holds news conferences, delivers speeches, and appears before legislative bodies to present association's viewpoints and encourage acceptance of goals and objectives. Oversees finances of Board of Directors, including preparation of long-range forecast and monthly and annual budget reports. Plans, develops, and implements new programs and ideas, and confers with committee leaders to evaluate services and recommend methods to promote and increase membership involvement. Directs and coordinates association functions, such as conventions, exhibits, or local or regional workshops, to present membership with committee proposals on goals or objectives, familiarize membership or public with new technology or products, and increase public acceptance of membership objectives. Prepares and updates procedural manual. May conduct investigations on members' professional ethics, competence, or conduct, or financial responsibility of members to enforce quasi-legal standards of membership. May visit members' businesses to maintain goodwill, to encourage greater participation in organization activities, and to offer assistance to businesses experiencing reverses. May be designated according to area of responsibility or activity directed.

Supervisor Accounting (Professional)

Supervises professional level financial accounting operations and oversees preparation of income statements, special accounting reports, and balancing of general and subsidiary ledgers. Assists in the analysis of financial statements. Advises management regarding matters such as effective use of resources and methods for preventing capital being frozen. Includes supervisors whose staffs may consist of a mix of professional, paraprofessional, and/or clerical accounting personnel; excludes supervisors whose staffs are 100 percent nonexempt. : Ensures that invoices are charged to the proper accounts. Interprets accounts and records to management. Assists in developing, installing, and maintaining budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities, such as advertising and marketing, production and labor, maintenance, or project activities, such as construction of buildings.

Advanced Professional Nurse Practitioner

Under indirect supervision of a physician, provides for the health care needs of patients through advanced assessment, identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment and evaluation.: An Advanced Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed a nurse practitioner educational program and holds national certification as a nurse practitioner from a Board approved certifying body. Provides direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the supervising physician. Functions independently to perform individual assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations. Obtains patient health histories and completes physical examinations. Orders, performs and interprets lab and diagnostic imaging studies. Diagnoses and treats acute health problems such as infections and injuries. Provides health maintenance, screenings and immunizations as well as continuity of care and referrals. Provides preventative health care services and counseling to promote healthy lifestyles and arranges consultations and referrals. Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals as needed. Documents examination results, noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings and ensures accuracy of notes on patient medical records. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient’s family, or staff. Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patient’s clinical status. Adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Prescribes, manages, and supervises medication treatment for acute and chronic illnesses. Provides quality assurance review. Maintains established policies and procedures, safety, and infection control standards. This position typically requires a Master’s degree in nursing, licensure as a Registered Nurse, and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Post Master’s advanced training and certification in a specialty such as Acute Care, Gerontology, Neonatal, Pediatric, Family, Women’s Health or Neuro Oncology is also required. May diagnose, manage treatment and monitor acute or chronic conditions. May serve in a teaching capacity or may supervise clinical and support staff in patient care activities.

Analyzes performance and instructs professional athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition: observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement. Coaches players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques of sport coached. Oversees daily practice of players to instruct them in areas of deficiency. Determines strategy during game, independently or in conference with other coach, professional athletes or head coach based on factors as weakness in opposing team. May be designated according to phase of game coached as defensive-line coach; pitching coach. May be designated according to game coached as basketball coach; football coach; swimming coach; tennis coach.

Professional Sports Scout

Evaluates athletic skills of professional and amateur athletes to determine fitness and potentiality for professional sports and negotiates with them to obtain services. Reviews prospects' exhibitions and past performance records. Negotiates with professional athletes to arrange contracts. A combination of over four years of directly related training and/or experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.: Reports to team management results of scouting assignments, such as selection or rejection of professional athletes scouted and people and areas sighted for future recruitment.

Professional Athlete

Participates in professional competitive athletic events, such as football, boxing, and hockey, to entertain audience: exercises and practices under direction of athletic trainer or coach, professional athletes to train for sport. Plays game and engages in sport conforming to established rules and regulations. Athletes are identified according to professional sport in which engaged. May speak, as representative of team or professional sports club, to groups involved in activities, such as sports clinics and fund raisers.
