Typically reports to Media Marketing Director and may direct media supervisors.: Adjusts broadcasting schedules due to program cancellations. Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences of media advertising. Reads trade journals and professional literature to stay informed of trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning.

Media Buyer

Negotiates purchases of advertising media time and space for client, following media plan: Reviews media plan specifications detailing budget, type of media, and desired time schedule for advertisement placement. Reviews rating services statistics on different factors, such as audience numbers in different time slots, viewing or reading patterns based on geographic differences, and demographic characteristics of audiences to deliver guaranteed audience ratings. Enters specified data onto computer work sheet to develop media schedule, including list of media where ads are to appear; dates of insertion, airing, or posting; space, time, or other units to be used; and cost. Reviews charges for selected media, such as television, radio, newspaper, billboard, transit, shopping center, signage, banner towing by plane, and bus shelters. Reviews discount structures, special buying opportunities, and other factors influencing cost of advertising. Determines most effective and efficient ways to spend client's money to achieve maximum ad exposure for lowest cost. Calls media representatives and negotiates price of advertisement placement, applying knowledge of supply and demand statistics. Analyzes ratings of actual versus estimated audiences. Performs post performance analysis of ads to verify that ads ran as specified. Calls media representative to negotiate additional time due for preemptions or audience deficiency. Reviews invoices for discrepancies. Contacts media representative or MEDIA PLANNER (business ser.) 164.117-022 to resolve invoice discrepancies. May authorize payment to media for advertising. May perform duties of MEDIA PLANNER (business ser.) in small establishments and be designated Media Planner-Buyer (business ser.).

Media Supervisor

Supervises media programs in advertising department. Confers with representatives of advertising agencies, product managers, and corporate advertising staff to establish media goals, objectives, and strategies within corporate advertising budget. Confers with advertising agents or media representatives to select specific programs and negotiate advertising to ensure optimum use of budgeted funds and long-term contracts. Sales Executive Technical Sales

Directs activities, either directly or through subordinates, concerned with sales of products or services of a highly complex nature. Plans, develops, establishes, and implements policies, procedures, and objectives of technical sales function in accordance with objectives of organization. Confers with organization officials to plan technical sales objectives, to develop sales policies, and to coordinate functions. Develops and maintains accounts and responds to bids and proposals. Targets and develops clients through existing database and contacts, advertising resources, and the Internet. Meets with clients to evaluate their technical needs and to recommend and provide consulting solutions.: Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Evaluates the market position of competing technical products, services, and organizations and their marketing and sales techniques. Devises sales strategies and promotions to obtain maximum sales volume. Forecasts semi-annual and annual sales projections. Directs preparation of required reports. Interprets and enforces company policy and practices. Ensures the adequacy of sales training programs. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Sales Associate For Wireless Sales

Sells new wireless products and services. Assists new and existing customers with the purchase of wireless equipment and services. Presents products and services to prospective customers through demonstrations and development of wireless communications solutions.: Prospects and generates new sales opportunities. Conducts all required processes and procedures to implement new service upon completion of sale. Initiates follow-up contact with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with all products and services purchased. Participates in the development and execution of promotional activities. Prepares culture media used to develop vaccines and toxoids or to conduct chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests: measures and weighs ingredients, such as food source, chemicals, preservatives, and vitamins, to prepare growth medium, using scales, graduated flasks, syringes, pipettes, and standard formulas. Adjusts controls of equipment, such as pumps, filters, steam kettles, and autoclaves, to obtain uniform consistency of sterile medium. Removes sample of medium from batch and tests sample for consistency, potency, and sterility, according to standardized procedures. Pours medium or adjusts controls on automatic equipment that dispenses medium into containers, such as petri dishes, test tubes, or storage drums. Seals containers and prepares and affixes identification labels to containers. Maintains production and test records. May order supplies. May mix ingredients to prepare stains used in tests.

Growth Media Mixer Mushroom

Drives and operates machinery, such as crane loader, dump truck, and manure-turning machine, to move and treat straw and manure and dirt for use in mushroom beds: operates crane loader to scoop wet manure from wet pit and dry manure from dry stack and dumps dry and wet manure into dump truck bed. Drives dump truck to haul manure to shed-covered area and dumps manure into rows. Drives dump truck loaded with dirt to rows of manure and moves levers to dump dirt over manure. Operates manure-turning machine to turn and mix manure with dirt and specified additives. Drives scoop loader to push manure from place to place on mushroom farm and to load manure onto trucks.

Media Clerk

Keeps record of clients' advertising schedules for advertising agency: computes cost of space allotment and advertising program from standard rates and data. Records media used, such as newspapers and magazines, and expenses. Types contract after receiving client's approval. Determines cost of advertising space in various media in other areas considering factors, such as size and population of city, space rates, and kind and frequency of publication for comparison.
