Medical Clinical Specialist

Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in clinical area or hospital to ensure quality care to patients. Ensures appropriate care is provided to patients. Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interviews personnel and patients to evaluate effectiveness of quality assurance program. May report to Quality Assurance Head Hospital or a similar high-level position. Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in the field of nursing.: Serves as a professional resource to nursing staff. Writes quality assurance policies and procedures. Part Maker

Forms and lines parts for use in jewelry and instrument cases, performing any combination of following duties: glues specified fabric on cardboard blanks to make lining base. Inserts cotton pad in lining to form cushion. Places glue-coated fabric on precut metal strip in jig and pulls handle of heating device to fold and seal fabric around strip to form bracelet-type watch holder. Places covered bracelet band on metal cylinder and shapes by hand or in groove of forming device and turns handle to shape band around form. Inserts wire spring in lining pad and positions pad and bracelet on holders in fixture. Pulls feeder that picks up and fits spring into groove on bracelet. Pulls lever of fastening device to press spring in place and fasten bracelet to pad or inserts bracelet into groove by hand. Records number and type of parts made. May be designated according to specific part made as bracelet-form coverer; bracelet former; cushion maker, hand; lining maker, hand; pad assembler.

Time Clerk

Distributes and collects time-worked reports or inputs. Reviews employee time-worked reports or inputs for accuracy and to assure information is properly recorded and coded. Verifies proper authorization for time worked. Ensures time worked is correctly allocated to proper account. Reviews computer printout alerting employee of potential problems or errors. Communicates procedural changes in payroll policies and regulations.: Collects and files time cards. Reads time-worked data and inputs to payroll or other personnel systems. Checks time-worked records for accuracy. Logs data as required regarding sick pay and vacations. Reviews disputes and errors.

Flight Crew Time Clerk

Compiles flight time record of flight officers for payroll and crew-scheduling departments to ensure accuracy of payroll and legality of flights: posts data, such as time in flight, type of aircraft, mileage flown, and weight of aircraft, onto flight time records, using posting machine. Reviews union agreements to ascertain payroll factors, such as meal expense allowance, billeting allotment, and rates of pay. Computes pay payroll clerk. Compares figures with flight officers' logs to detect and reconcile discrepancies. Notifies crew schedulers of total accumulated flight time of each officer and submits pay records to payroll section.

Aircraft Time Clerk

Keeps records of usage and time intervals between inspection and maintenance of designated airplane parts: compiles data from flight schedules and computes and posts amount of time airplanes and individual parts are in use daily, using calculating machine. Maintains card file for individual parts with notations of time used and facts taken from inspection records. Notifies inspection department when parts and airplanes approach date for inspection, including accumulated time and routing schedule. Records work notations onto inspection report forms, using typewriter. Prepares reports on schedule delays caused by mechanical difficulties to be filed with federal aviation administration. May keep reports on amounts of gasoline used daily. May keep employees' time records timekeeper.

Clinical Specialist Physical Therapy

Plans and administers advanced medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Plans and coordinates physical therapy treatment programs for a diverse patient population having complex medical conditions including, but not limited to, brain injuries, amputations, and vision deficits. Integrates treatment plans with other disciplines, consulting with referring practitioners. Possesses advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills, exceeding that of a Physical Therapist, in treatment of a specific patient group or specific disability. Administers complex treatment, such as certain types of manual exercises and functional training, and monitors administration of other treatments.: Reviews physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition, and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required. Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs. Plans and prepares written treatment programs based on evaluation of patient data. Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistant and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses. Administers treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluates effects of treatments at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Administers massage, applying knowledge of massage techniques and body physiology. Administers traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment. Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer. Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices, and recommends modification to Orthotist. Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care. Teaches and mentors others in area of specialty. Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, aides, and students. May conduct physical therapy research. May plan and conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups. May plan and develop physical therapy research programs and participate in conducting research. May write technical articles and reports for publications. May teach physical therapy techniques and procedures in educational institutions. May plan, direct, and coordinate physical therapy program.

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Advises hospitals, schools of nursing, industrial organizations, or public health groups on problems related to nursing activities and health services. Position is a clinical specialist or consultant requiring comprehensive specialized health and medical care knowledge. This position typically requires advanced study in the field of nursing or health sciences. Requires RN license.: Reviews and suggests changes in nursing organization and administrative procedures. Adult Day Care Director

Oversees the daily operations of an Adult Day Care Center. Organizes and directs an adult care facility to provide supervision and continuing care to participants. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and five or more years of management experience in adult day care operations.: Ensures that the center meets all licensing regulations related to adult (elder) care centers. Manages day care billing and maintains account records. Collects and reconciles program tuition and collects monies for food service and deposits according to standard policies. Maintains relationships with families and develops programs responsive to family needs. Provides for ongoing safety of adults in daily center activities. Files accident reports, when necessary, and monitors adherence to established safety policies. Directs and supervises the work of staff in providing for the care and needs of the center participants. Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for the center's operations. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies.

Clinical Systems Specialist

Develops and identifies solutions for database systems and plans their implementation. Determines database development and maintenance for research projects from a data architecture standpoint and coordinates the provision of data and programming support. Contributes to the design aspects of data collection, management, and analysis.: Reviews project proposals for errors and/or omissions and suggests alternative solutions. Determines feasibility of programming requests and evaluates systems overhead of proposed development. Recommends changes to improve system efficiency and lower costs. Performs data integrity and statistical analyses on databases. Performs quality control checks on databases. Plans, programs, and performs procedures for electronic capture of data. Researches and recommends hardware, software, and network solutions by tracking industry developments. Develops procedures and maintains up-to-date documentation of information system for technical personnel. Coordinates and plans efforts of data/systems support staff. Trains other staff members as needed.
