Hospital Controller

Directs and coordinates financial operations of a hospital. This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance and may require certification as a Certified Public Accountant.: Directs and coordinates financial operations of a hospital. Directs and coordinates hospital financial operations. Assists in formulating and administering approved general accounting practices for the hospital. Analyzes and interprets data and develop reports to executive management reflecting internal economic conditions and trends. Coordinates the establishment of major schedules, task assignments and allocation of staff and equipment to ensure compliance with specified objectives, policies and deadlines through accountable management personnel. Directs and controls comprehensive budget preparations and cost data. Develops clear and informative methods and media to present financial data, special projects and studies of a financial nature. Approves and signs documents effecting monetary transactions. Directs the preparation of reports which outline the hospital's financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and future operations. Operations Research Director

Directs and coordinates activities of operations research department, using engineering and scientific research methods to assist engineering, operations, sales, or a major division of an organization in identifying means for attaining improvement, cost reduction, and/or optimization of performance. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, and operations to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives. Assists Top Research Officer in planning, developing, and administering policies, procedures, and objectives of the operations research functions in accordance with organization's objectives. Typically reports Top Research Officer and directly oversees Operation Research Manager.: Confers with Top Research Officer and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. Directs research surveys and studies and reviews compilation and analysis proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Submits proposals considered feasible to management for further consideration and recommends allocation of funds to support them. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project. Prepares reports on progress and recommends the addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects. Prepares and administers operations research budget. May recruit, hire, and train department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop goals and objectives for staff. May negotiate contracts with consulting firms to perform research studies.

Top Operations Officer

Directs, plans, controls, and coordinates the operating activities of an organization toward the achievement of established objectives. Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions. Arranges for audits of plant's accounts. Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. May establish major economic objectives and policies for plant.

Recommends insights that contribute to overall company strategic management. Ensures corporation makes maximum use of the general system by providing for the education and training of the principal users. This position typically reports to the Top Information Technology Officer and normally has managers reporting to it.: Consults with management to determine information requirements of management, scientists, or engineers, determine boundaries and priorities of new projects, and discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions. Confers with department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of project. Confers with computer analysts or engineers to define equipment needs. Reviews project feasibility studies. Maintains a professional, technical, and clerical staff capable of meeting current and future needs. Establishes work standards. Interprets policies, purposes, and goals of organization to subordinates. Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals. Contracts with management specialists, technical personnel, or vendors to solve problems. Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunctions, and maintenance to ascertain costs and plan department operating changes. Analyzes department workflow and workers' job duties to recommend reorganization or departmental realignment within company. Participates in decisions concerning staffing and promotions within data processing department. Directs training of subordinates. Keeps current on new developments in information technology, and plans for future upgrades and organizational changes. May prepare proposals and solicit sale of systems analysis, programming, and computer services to outside firms. May assist staff to diagnose and solve computer equipment problems. May participate in technical projects, such as writing equipment specifications or developing computer programs for specified applications.

Banking Head of Operations

Manages and coordinates activities of personnel involved in performing internal operations in departments or branch offices of financial institution. Assigns duties to operations personnel to ensure efficient operation of department or branch. Typically reports to manager level in organization and has shift supervisors or lead computer operators reporting to position.: Trains workers to operate computer and peripheral equipment. Confers with programmers and operates computer to test new and modified programs. Directs operation of computer to execute program, and observes operation to detect error or failure in progress of program. Reads monitor and enters commands to help computer operators identify and correct errors. Revises input data and program to continue operation of program. Notifies programming and maintenance personnel if unable to locate and correct cause of processing error or failure. Revises operation schedule to adjust for delays, or notifies scheduling workers of need to adjust schedule. Prepares or reviews production, operating, and down time records and reports. Recommends changes in programs, routines, and quality control standards to improve computer operating efficiency. Consults with manager about problems, such as equipment performance, output quality, and maintenance schedule. Coordinates flow of work between shifts to ensure continuity.
