Schedules appointments and registers patients, ensuring that all demographic information is current. Prepares and maintains medical charts for patients, ensuring confidentiality of all patient information. Answers non-medical questions and gives routine non-medical instructions. Dental Office Receptionist

Welcomes patients and visitors to the dental office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone. Prepares necessary paperwork, collects necessary payment, and notifies appropriate person of patient's arrival.: Answers inquiries or refers questions to other staff members. Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays. Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Telephones taxis or family members, where necessary, for transportation. May schedule future appointments.

Directs activities of multiple supporting units of a hospital. Medical Secretary

Performs secretarial and administrative duties under general supervision, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. : Takes and transcribes notes and dictation. Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence. Answers telephone, screens and directs calls, schedules appointments, and greets and directs visitors. Maintains files. Operates a personal computer, utilizing appropriate software. May do accounting and billing work.

Technician Medical Laboratory

Performs routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid, under supervision of Medical Technologist. Typically requires specialized certification.: Performs blood counts, using microscope. Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes. May draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples. May specialize in hematology, blood bank, cytology, histology, or chemistry.
