Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in home care e settings. Cares for a broad range of patients and provides preventative and rehabilitative nursing care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.: Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivers daily routine nursing care and services to patients. Assists in the implementation of a nursing care plan for patients in their home to help patients deal with their illness. Participates in the implementation of preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Dresses wounds, gives enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages. Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge. Records patient vital signs and administers specified medication, orally or by injection, and notes time and amount on patients' charts. Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers. Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples. Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave. Prepares or examines food trays for prescribed diet and feeds patients. Records food and fluid intake and output. Bathes, dresses, and assists patient in walking and turning. Cleans rooms, makes beds, and answers patient’s calls. Washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons. Serves as a liaison between the client and the private duty staff, and assesses the client's condition and the home environment. Provides health care instruction to patient and family members. Provides instruction to patients and their families on health care. Treats common ailments and dresses wounds. Observes and reports unusual or abnormal symptoms so that appropriate modifications may be made in the health care plan. This position typically requires graduation from an accredited LPN course and current state licensure with previous home care nursing experience. May administer prescribed medicines or start intravenous fluids.

LPN

Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples. Adult Day Care Director

Oversees the daily operations of an Adult Day Care Center. Organizes and directs an adult care facility to provide supervision and continuing care to participants. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and five or more years of management experience in adult day care operations.: Ensures that the center meets all licensing regulations related to adult (elder) care centers. Manages day care billing and maintains account records. Collects and reconciles program tuition and collects monies for food service and deposits according to standard policies. Maintains relationships with families and develops programs responsive to family needs. Provides for ongoing safety of adults in daily center activities. Files accident reports, when necessary, and monitors adherence to established safety policies. Directs and supervises the work of staff in providing for the care and needs of the center participants. Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for the center's operations. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies.

Day Care Center Director

Directs activities of preschool, day care center, or other child development facility to provide instruction and care for children: prepares and submits facility budget to board of trustees, administrative agency, or owner for approval. Authorizes purchase of instructional materials and teaching aids, such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning. Interviews and recommends hiring of teaching and service staff. Confers with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures. Confers with teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences. Reviews and evaluates facility activities to ensure conformance to state and local regulations. Reviews and approves menu plans and food purchases. May arrange medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental instructions. May perform classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher. May be designated director, child development center; director, nursery school.

Nurse Supervisor Evening or Night

Plans, organizes, and directs activities for the duration of one shift of hospital nursing unit. Observes techniques of, and services rendered by, nursing staff or provides nursing care for patients in unit. Demonstrates techniques for nursing students and/or new personnel to provide training and direction. Requires RN license.: Identifies problem areas in nursing unit, such as understaffing, absenteeism, and wastefulness, and takes corrective action. Monitors use of supplies and equipment to avoid abuses and requisitions supplies. Responds to various departments requesting emergency assistance and assigns staff accordingly during emergencies. Prepares work schedule and assigns duties to nursing staff in unit for efficient use of personnel.

Day Worker

Performs any combination of following domestic duties: cleans and dusts furnishings, hallways, and lavatories. Changes and makes beds. Washes and irons clothings by hand or machine. Vacuums carpets, using vacuum cleaner. May watch children to keep them out of mischief. May wash windows and wax and polish floors.

Day Care Worker

Organizes and leads activities of pre-kindergarten children in nursery schools or in playrooms operated for patrons of theaters, department stores, hotels, and similar organizations. Helps children remove outer garments. Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, handwork, songs, and similar activities. : Directs children in eating, resting, and toileting. Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books. Maintains discipline. May serve meals and refreshments to children and regulate rest periods. Guards industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, performing any combination of following duties: patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of industrial plant or commercial establishment, docks, logging camp area, or work site. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels miscreants. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred. Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property. May register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips. May record data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff. May perform janitorial duties and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms. May tend furnace or boiler. May be deputized to arrest trespassers. May regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow. May patrol site with guard dog on leash. May watch for fires and be designated fire patroller.
