Insurance CSR

Process new insurance policies, modifications to existing policies, and claims forms. Obtain information from policyholders to verify the accuracy and completeness of information on claims forms, applications and related documents, and company records. Update existing policies and company records to reflect changes requested by policyholders and insurance company representatives. Exclude 'Claims Adjusters, Examiners, and Investigators' (13-1031).

Insurance Clerk

Compiles records of insurance policies covering risks to property and equipment of organization. Files records of insurance transactions and keeps calendar of premiums due and expiration dates of policies. Prepares vouchers for payment of premiums and verifies that payments have been made.: Fills in data on renewal policy applications and forwards applications to insurance company. Compiles statistical data for reports to insurance carrier and departments in organization. May notify insurance company of changes in property or equipment affecting insurance coverage. May type amortization schedules. May use computer software programs to process and record actions.

Insurance Rater

Determines amount of premium to be charged for various types of insurance. Determines premium rate based on information relating to type and amount of policy based on standard risk factors, such as use and age of automobile, location and value of property, or age of applicant. Determines additional premium rates of basic policy and endorsements to compute total annual premium.: Enters information into database and maintains related record. May make determinations on commissions.

Insurance Agent

Sells insurance to new and current clients. Compiles lists of prospective clients to provide leads for additional business. Contacts prospective clients and explains features and merits of policies offered, recommending amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect's circumstances, and utilizing persuasive sales techniques. : Calculates and quotes premium rates for recommended policies. Calls on policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to suggest additions or changes in insurance program, or to make changes in beneficiaries. May collect premiums from policyholders. Must hold license issued by state.

Insurance Coder

Compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. Process, maintain, compile, and report patient information for health requirements and standards.

Insurance Broker

Sell life, property, casualty, health, automotive, or other types of insurance. May refer clients to independent brokers, work as independent broker, or be employed by an insurance company.

Insurance Lawyer

Represent clients in criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, and manage or advise clients on legal transactions. May specialize in a single area or may practice broadly in many areas of law.

Insurance Biller

Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visit to solicit payment. Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer's account; preparing statements to credit department if customer fails to respond; initiating repossession proceedings or service disconnection; keeping records of collection and status of accounts.

Insurance Writer

Review individual applications for insurance to evaluate degree of risk involved and determine acceptance of applications.

Insurance Manager

Administers and manages implementation of insurance needs for individuals, businesses, and organizations, utilizing knowledge of tax and insurance strategies, securities, insurance, pension plans, and real estate. Manages those, including brokers, who prepare and submit documents to implement coverages selected. Oversees administration of claims and adjustments. Typically reports to a director.: Understands organization's assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives. Analyzes organization's financial status and develops financial plan based on analysis of data.
