Chief CT Technologist

Coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Completion of formal radiologic technology training is required for this position. Registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required and must have supplemental training and experience in computed tomography (CT).: Provides training and is a technical resource for less experience CT Technologists on staff. Talks to patient to monitor patient safety and comfort. Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures. Evaluates radiographs, video tape, and computer generated information for technical quality. May purchase equipment and supplies.

Systems Administrator

Develops, tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software. Responsibilities differ from those of an Operating Systems Programmer in that the Systems Administrator is not responsible for altering operating system's software codes. Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters. Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty; however, some organizations may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system. Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation. May assist computer programmer in resolution of work problems related to flowcharts, project specifications, or programming. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. May design new systems, including both hardware and software, or add new software applications to harness more of computer's power.

Power Systems Engineer

Designs power system facilities and equipment and coordinates construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving, and distribution stations, transmission lines, and distribution systems and equipment. Designs and plans layout of generating plants, transmission and distribution lines, and receiving and distribution stations. Directs preparation of, or prepares drawings and specific type of equipment and materials to be used in, construction and equipment installation. A degree in electrical engineering is required. Excludes supervisory and paraprofessional positions.: Estimates labor, material, construction, and equipment costs. Inspects completed installations for conformance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards. Observes operation of installation for conformance with operational standards. Coordinates operation and maintenance activities to ensure optimum utilization of power system facilities and to meet customer demands for electrical energy. May compile power rates and direct others in evaluating properties and developing utilities in new territories.

Analyst Computer Systems Hardware

Analyzes organizational business needs in terms of information technology systems requirements. Plans information technology systems that will provide system capabilities required for projected workloads, and plans layout and installation of new system or modification of existing system. Requires a bachelor's degree in field of specialty. Excludes paraprofessional positions.: Confers within the organization with various managers and staff to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing system and capabilities required for information technology requirements of the future. Evaluates factors such as number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, reporting formats required, volume of transactions, time requirements and cost constraints, and need for security and access restrictions to determine hardware configurations. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and system, that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation, and effective use of allotted space. May enter data into computer terminal to store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. May specify power supply requirements and configuration. May recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation. May specialize in one area of system application or in one type or make of equipment. May train users to use new or modified equipment. May monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications. May represent consulting firm or equipment manufacturer.

Assembler Installer Cable Controlled Systems

Assembles and installs rigging and control assemblies and systems that actuate aircraft structures, such as rudder, elevator, canopy, and wing surfaces, according to specifications, using handtools, power tools, and equipment: reads and interprets blueprints, production illustrations, and other specifications to determine location, identity, and relationship of parts. Assembles, hangs, connects, and installs rigging and control assemblies and systems, including cables, cylinders, components of ailerons and flaps, pulleys, mountings, and brackets, working from established station lines and index points, using templates, jigs, fixtures, handtools, and power tools. Sets, adjusts, and synchronizes rigging and control system components to established tolerances and requirements. Verifies specified tension of cables, using tensionmeter. Operates rigging and control systems to determine functional performance, and reworks or adjusts system components accordingly. May install mechanical linkages and actuators.

Business Systems Analyst

Analyzes business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business systems software to meet the needs of the organization. Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provides recommendations to management personnel. Participates in systems development and design, including software programming and table, report, and panel design. Formulates test plans and coordinates and performs software testing. This job typically requires a four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.: Coordinates implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to the new system, and works with application support personnel to resolve system problems. Documents system specifications and notes any changes in procedure. Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management, and system end-users to determine requirements and obtain sign-off. Provides training and technical support to system end-users.

Systems Analyst Lead

Leads professional-level systems analysts engaged in the activities of solving computer problems and enabling computer technology to meet the needs of the organization. Leads systems analysts in performing system studies to assist organization to realize maximum benefit from investments in equipment, personnel, and business processes. Assigns, coordinates, and reviews work of systems analyst personnel. Position is distinguished from a supervisor as position does not have full responsibility for recruiting, hiring, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Typically requires a four-year college degree in field of specialty; however, some organizations may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: Consults with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required. Develops programs from workflow charts or diagrams, considering factors, such as computer storage capacity and speed, extent of peripheral equipment, and intended use of output data. Converts workflow charts to language that can be processed by computer. Enters program codes into computer. Enters test data into computer. Analyzes test runs on computer to correct or direct correction of coded program and input data. Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. Trains subordinates in programming and program coding. Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs. Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Prepares records and reports.
