Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in boarding house engaged in providing meals and lodging accommodations for transients and permanent guests: advertises vacancies and shows and rents rooms. Responds to and resolves guest requests and relays messages. Identifies and explains room features to guests; supplies guests with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest. Ensures that any outstanding requests or problems from the previous day receive priority and are resolved. Runs and reviews daily reports/logs. Accepts and records wake-up call requests and delivers to appropriate department. Processes all payment types, adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges; and provides change. Notifies Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft. Follows all company policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensures uniform and/or personal appearance are clean and professional; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; and protects company assets. Complies with quality assurance expectations and standards. May issue escort instructions to bellhop. May keep records of room availability and guests' accounts. May post charges, such as room, food, liquor, or telephone, to ledger. May make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arrange for tours. May deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box. May order complimentary flowers or champagne for guests. May rent dock space at marina-hotel.

Hotel Assistant General Manager

Assists General Manager in all aspects and daily operations of a hotel to ensure efficient and profitable operation. Establishes standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, room rates, advertising, publicity, credit, food selection and service, and type of patronage to be solicited. Delegates authority and assigns responsibilities to department heads.: Collaborates with Marketing Department to attract new customers while retaining existing accounts. Allocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists in planning budgets for departments. Assists in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel. Develops and motivates staff to attain proper standards of performance. Analyzes various reports and initiates proper corrective actions for unacceptable trends. General Manager Hotel

Directs all aspects and daily operations of a hotel to ensure efficient and profitable operation. Establishes standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, room rates, advertising, publicity, credit, food selection and service, and type of patronage to be solicited. Delegates authority and assigns responsibilities to department heads. The manager level is typically the second level of management and may have first level supervisors reporting to this position; however, in smaller establishments the manager may be a first level supervisor over subordinate staff.: Plans dining room, bar, and banquet operations. Allocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists in planning budgets for departments. Interviews, hires, and evaluates personnel. Answers patrons' complaints and resolves problems. Inspects guests' rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance. May negotiate contracts with vendors and negotiate leases with on-site shops.

Hotel Sales Manager

Assists the Director of Sales with the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies for the hotel, including securing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts, to maximize the profitability of the hotel and maintain customer satisfaction.: Sells hotel guest rooms, catering services, and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits. Establishes client base of organizations, associations, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort. Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business. Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract. Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities and entertains qualified potential clients. Attends and represents the organization at trade shows and conventions. Responds quickly to guest requests and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. Conducts site inspections.

Sales Representative Hotel

Contacts representatives of government, business, associations, travel agencies, convention groups, and social groups to solicit business for hotel, motel, or resort. Selects prospective customers for hotel services and calls on prospects to solicit business, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered, and quotes prices. : Reviews information on sales meetings, conventions, training classes, overnight travel, and other functions held by organization members to select prospective customers for hotel services. Calls on prospects to solicit business, analyzes requirements of function, verifies reservations by letter, or draws up contract and obtains signatures. Confers with customer and hotel department heads to plan function details, such as space requirements, publicity, time schedule, food services, and decorations. May serve as convention advisor or coordinator during function to minimize confusion and resolve problems, such as space adjustment and need for additional equipment. May select and release hotel publicity. May prepare and mail advance brochures to prospective customers.

Hotel Room Service Clerk

Performs a variety of tasks related to serving guests in hotels.: Delivers and removes packages, laundry, clothes, groceries, and other articles to and from guests rooms or servitors (cabinets built into doors of hotel rooms). Collects supply orders from various departments and delivers to purchasing department. Delivers mail to various departments and guests. Records information pertaining to services rendered. May arrange for pressing clothes and shining shoes, sending and receiving packages, and in maintaining valet service. May press clothes and shine shoes. May supervise activities of workers engaged in delivering packages to hotel guests.

Supervisor Hotel Baggage

Supervises and directs activities of Baggage Porters engaged in handling baggage and related work for hotel patrons. This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Adjusts work schedules according to workload and makes individual task assignments. Advises Baggage Porters of action to be taken in response to unusual requests. Resolves guests' complaints pertaining to conduct of Baggage Porters and lost or mishandled baggage. May perform personnel duties, such as screening, hiring, giving directions to new workers, and maintaining time records. May give travel information. May act as agent for transportation company. May participate in baggage handling activities and setting up sample rooms.
