Directs, through managers, supervisors or head nurses, activities of nursing staff. Administers nursing program in hospital or other medical institution to maintaining standards of patient care. This is the highest level position in patient care.: Plans and organizes activities in nursing services, such as obstetrics, pediatrics, or surgery, or for two or more patient-care units to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and hospital administrative procedures. Coordinates activities with other patient care units. Advises medical staff, department heads, and hospital administrator in matters related to nursing services. Recommends establishment or revision of policies, and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of hospital nursing services to staff and community groups. Performs personnel management functions. Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for unit staff members, and participates in guidance and educational programs. Assists in formulating budget. Engages in studies and investigations related to improving nursing care. May direct activities of school of nursing.
Tends battery of automatic machines that flame-cut and form vials for level from glass tubing: inserts tubing in holder to feed machine. Replenishes tubing and replaces fill catch boxes. Examines formed glasses for defects, such as unclosed bottoms, elongated tops or misshapen vials, and notifies machine adjuster of machine malfunctioning. Removes formed glasses to workbench and files points from glasses to leave opening for filling, using half-round file.
Tends equipment that fills glass vials with alcohol or ether solution and leaves air bubble to form vials used in tools and instruments to determine levelness: fills rack with vial-filled cups and lowers rack into tank of solution. Lowers weighted glass cover and moves lever to turn on air pressure. Sets timer for designated time cycle. Shuts off air and raises cover when bell rings. Compares bubbles in random sampling of filled vials with master vial for conformance to size. Refills vials or lets vials stand to evaporate excess fluid to regulate size of bubble. Pours solution from jug into tank to replace used fluid.
Handles and resolves complex customer queries, complaints, special orders, or in-store returns via e-mail, telephone, and/or in person contact. Interacts with customers to obtain information, identify problem, provide technical assistance, and/or to provide information in response to inquiries about accounts, products, services, and operation or maintenance. Advises Customer Service Representatives on how to handle customer service matters.: Receives and processes orders, provides information concerning availability, pricing, changes in service, discontinuance, and shipping, and expedites and follows up on orders. Investigates and corrects errors, following customer and company records. Adjusts complaints concerning billing or services rendered. Refers complaints of product or service failure to appropriate departments for investigation. Coordinates customers' service needs with other departments as required to ensure customer service. Conducts proactive calls to customer base. Liaises with development, engineering, sales, distributors, and customers.
Manages by directing and coordinating subordinate customer service staff in connection with any product or service offered. Manages workers who investigate complaints, such as those concerning rates or service. Analyzes reports of findings and recommends response to complaints, considering nature and complexity of complaints, requirements, and actions of subordinates to ensure settlements are made correctly. Typically reports to director level and may have supervisory positions reporting to this position.: Studies schedules and estimates time, cost, and labor estimates for services, and/or completion of job assignments. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or work activities. Analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and/or reductions, and may allocate operating budget's funds. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. May authorize retention of data and preparation of documents for use during governmental or customer inquiries. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Assists with planning, directing, and coordinating activities of customer service workers engaged in ensuring customer satisfaction through processing orders and coordination with other departments or functions as required. Directs workers to investigate complaints or concerns, such as those concerning rates or service in connection with any product or service offered. Reports to a director or manager.: Reviews reports of findings and recommends response to customer issues, considering nature and complexity of issues, requirements, and actions of subordinates to ensure settlements are made correctly and satisfactorily. Maintains equipment level and type sufficient to accomplish objectives. Authorizes retention of data and preparation of documents for use during governmental or customer inquiries. Ensures compliance with established customer service policies and procedures. Recommends and implements new procedures. May receive, investigate, evaluate, and settle complaints and claims of customers. May explain to customer, by telephone or letter, action taken on complaint, or may follow up with customer to see that resolution was satisfactory.
Sells company products or services in store, business, or assigned area. Answers customer's telephone, mail, and in-person inquiries and requests. Resolves customer complaints and requests for refunds, exchanges, and adjustments.: Develops new accounts. Communicates directly with new and existing customers or clients to explain features and merits of products or services offered. Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services. Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required. Closes transactions and takes orders. Investigates product/service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies. Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Calculates and quotes prices.
Teach or instruct vocational or occupational subjects at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated or left high school. Include correspondence school instructors; industrial, commercial and government training instructors; and adult education teachers and instructors who prepare persons to operate industrial machinery and equipment and transportation and communications equipment. Teaching may take place in public or private schools whose primary business is education or in a school associated with an organization whose primary business is other than education.
Assists customers in selection, demonstration, and purchase of product. Processes cash and credit transactions accurately.: Operates the Point of Sale terminal. Maintains balanced cash drawer. Processes invoices and returns. Answers customer questions and directs to appropriate departments. Ensures customer waiting time is within established limits. Bags customer goods. May reconcile cash drawer and receipts at end of shift. May organize stock. May maintain sales floor merchandise areas.
Interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about accounts, products, and services in a branch office.
