Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to ensure efficient operation. Tests joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solution. Wraps pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place with cement or wire bands. Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment. May install, repair, and service air conditioners, ranging from 15 to 20 tons of cooling capacity, in warehouses and factory buildings.

Installation Manager

Supervises and schedules activities of workers engaged in installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Coordinates with other departments, outside vendors, and subcontractors to meet installations schedules and goals.: Plans, assigns, and directs work of Installation Technicians, vehicles, and tools in accordance with project requirements. Reviews and approves all installation-related invoicing to ensure accurate payables. Monitors budget, identifies cost and schedule variances, and develops and implements corrective actions for negative variances. Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing objectives. Organizes and/or conducts training for the installation team to improve skills and efficiency and maintain applicable certifications. Oversees recruiting, hiring, and training of installation staff.

Electrical Installation Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates activities of electric-meter installer i and electric-meter repairer engaged in installing, testing, adjusting, and repairing meters for recording electric current consumption: reviews work orders to verify specifications of wire sizes and metering equipment according to national electric code and company requirements. Visits installation sites and inspects installed meters and other electrical appliances for conformance to specifications and safety standards. Consults with customers, electric-wiring contractors, and commercial department representatives to determine space requirements, availability of customer-service outlets, and types of metering equipment for special installations. Issues meter test or repair orders to workers. Examines meters, instruments, and phase transformers to verify accuracy of tests and completion of repairs or adjustments. Performs other duties as described under supervisor.

Account Installation Specialist Associate

Administers the installation of assigned accounts under general direction including, but not limited to, structure and billing setup, eligibility collection, database loading, and preparation of plan materials, such as administrative documents and customer education materials.: Provides support to assigned accounts by responding to inquiries and resolving issues of concern. May provide guidance or expertise to less experienced representatives.

Installation Technician

Performs installation, repair, and maintenance work on equipment. Reviews installation orders and gathers needed equipment, tools, and supplies for daily service calls. Coordinates schedules with customers. Educates customers on proper operation of equipment.: Plans installation by evaluating locations, access, and equipment layout. Adheres to codes, regulations, and standards. Tests and calibrates equipment before leaving job site. Resolves customer concerns and questions. Records productive time versus travel time. Maintains all work records and parts used at each job in accordance with established procedures. Monitors parts inventory for service vehicle. Keeps inventory log, places inventory orders, and confirms receipt.

Electrical Installation Inspector

Inspects and tests electrical parts, assemblies, and accessories prior to installation in aircraft for conformance to specifications and quality standards, using precision measuring instruments and test equipment: examines parts and assemblies, such as wire harnesses, control panels, coaxial cables, and electrical jig boards, for completeness of assembly, quality, and conformance to blueprints, production illustrations, engineering drawings, and specifications. Inspects wiring of assemblies for accuracy of stripping, soldering, and crimping, and for defects, such as frayed wires, loose connections, and cracks. Verifies wire and cable length, dimensions, and clearance of parts, using precision instruments. Tests continuity and performance of parts, assemblies, and accessories, using test equipment. Records acceptance or rejection of parts on inspection report, and indicates reason for rejection.

Marine Engine Installation & Repairer Apprentice

Performs duties as described under apprentice.

Outside Installation Machinist

Installs ship machinery, such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, and steering gear, working from blueprints and using handtools, calipers, and micrometers. Lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connections, such as shafting and steam lines. Installs below-deck auxiliaries, such as evaporators, stills, heaters, pumps, condensers, and boilers and connects them to steampipe systems. Tests and inspects installed machinery and equipment during dock and sea trials. May set up and operate such machine shop tools as lathe, boring mill, planer, shaper, slotter, and milling machine to fabricate replacement parts.

HVAC Engineer

Leads the design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems, equipment, and associated control systems. Develops and optimizes operation and maintenance procedures for all HVAC equipment and associated control systems. Troubleshoots and corrects problems with existing HVAC equipment and associated control systems. : Develops validation documentation and implements validation plans in cooperation with the Validation Supervisor. Develops training programs for equipment operation and preventive maintenance. Manages vendors and consultants to ensure that design is in compliance with standards and that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications and are delivered as required. Provides technical expertise during regulatory audits. Authors, reviews, revises, and/or approves Standard Operating Procedures as required. Provides technical support for utility systems.

HVAC Designer

Performs mechanical design activities from design concept to construction documents, acceptance, testing, and hand-over. Interprets system requirements from system diagrams and develops duct designs and related equipment arrangements in a three-dimensional product model environment. : Performs and reviews load calculations, design specifications, and technical drawings. Maintains familiarity with International Mechanical Codes and Building Codes. Identifies customer requirements, researches solutions, and reviews HVAC systems. Coordinates HVAC with architectural/structural, plumbing, electrical, and other disciplines. Prepares sketches, layout, and detail drawings according to design proposals and standards specifications and practices. Resolves design problems related to manufacturing, material, or quality requirements. Verifies accuracy and completeness of finished drawings. Prepares or assists in preparing material and time estimates and equipment cost comparisons. Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment to model systems and components and create complex designs and layouts.
