Occupational Health-Workers Comp Director

Plans, directs, implements, and administers ongoing improvement of occupational health and worker's compensation services in a health plan. Manages the Occupational Health-Worker's Compensation staff and implements strategies relative to the development and management of related services. Designs and implements programs to maintain positive relationships between the health plan, physicians, providers, and practice managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in occupational health with seven years of related health plan experience.: Participates in weekly patient case conferences with Medical Director, Occupational Health, and Worker's Compensation providers. Manages and coordinates placement and periodic health reviews, return to work assessments, fitness for duty assessments, and confidential medical record maintenance. Monitors the management of on the job injuries or illnesses and health consultations including assessment, treatment and referral to appropriate resources as required. Responsible for hiring, developing and managing a qualified management staff concerned with the maintenance and expansion of assigned services within the health plan. Prepares, manages, and monitors the departmental budget. Ensures that the plan has an adequate number of participating providers in the network to meet business objectives.

Occupational Health-Workers Comp Manager

Oversees and manages the delivery of patient care for Occupational Health Services/Employee Health, ensuring that patient care is provided according to established standards of care and practice. Consults with physicians regarding patient assessments, care provided, new services, and other relevant information.: Leads and manages the Occupational Health team including providing direction and guidance to the Medical Director. Develops and coordinates regional internal and external occupational health resources. Collaborates with others to anticipate and control occupational health risks and meet OSHA regulatory and governance requirements. Serves as technical expert and supports the Disability Management, Workers' Compensation, and Human Resources efforts in ADA, FMLA, return-to-work, and other medical issues. Evaluates management systems in occupational and non-occupational areas, such as return-to-work, pre- and post-offer screening, work hardening, and health risk management. Partners with the wellness, health benefits, local medical provider networks, and the contract medical director in defining risk-based processes for health management. Facilitates strategic vendor partnerships for organization's Occupational Health management systems. Develops and reports quality assurance, quality control, and performance metrics to demonstrate positive outcomes for both corporate and regional occupational health programs.

Supervisor Farm Workers

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparing fields and planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. Confers with manager to evaluate soil and weather conditions and to develop plans and procedures. Inspects fields and observes growing plants and harvested crop to determine work requirements, such as cultivating, spraying, thinning, weeding, irrigating, harvesting, and drying, according to time of year and condition of soil, plants, and crops. Determines number and kind of workers needed to perform required work and schedules activities. Inspects work performed, observes instrument and gauge readings, ascertains condition of crop, and performs related duties to verify worker adherence to instructions. Performs other supervisory duties. A degree in agriculture is preferred; however, some companies or farm owners may accept equivalent education and experience combined.: May hire workers. May train workers in work procedures, safety policies, and use of machinery and tools. May oversee packaging and transporting of harvested crop. May drive and operate farm machinery, such as tractor, baler, and self-propelled harvester. May examine machinery to ascertain maintenance, repair, and replacement requirements, and supervise workers engaged in machinery-maintenance activities. May issue tools to workers.

Warehouse Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates daily activities of workers engaged in materials movement or handling, receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining stock in a storeroom or warehouse. Reviews shipping or receiving orders and requests for movement of materials and products, prepares work schedules, gives work assignments to subordinates. This position typically reports to the Warehouse Manager and is the first level of supervision.: Jobs supervised include storing items in bins, on floors, or on shelves in storeroom or warehouse for removal, marking or tagging articles for identification purposes, maintaining records of inventory, filling orders, issuing materials to office or production areas, and submitting requisitions for replacement stock. Assists with design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepares work order for repairs, and requisitions for replacement of equipment. Reviews work processes, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Supervises salvage of damaged or used material. Keeps accurate records, and prepares and submits required paperwork. Screens and provides input on hiring warehouse personnel. May train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Workers' Compensation Administrator

Administers and supports company's workers' compensation and occupational health programs. Administers claims and audits, compiles statistics, and prepares reports. Interprets laws and regulations, decides appropriate courses of action, and presents solutions to resolve claims. : Works and communicates with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel and attorneys. May provide data for OSHA-related reporting.

Tobacco Warehouse Agent

Solicits business for tobacco auction warehouse and rents space for display of tobacco on warehouse floor: meets tobacco growers at warehouse entrance, on streets, or visits growers prior to sale to solicit their business. Informs customers or prospective customers of warehouse space available for tobacco display. Issues tickets to growers reserving warehouse space and ascertains that space has been reserved.

May drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. May complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments. May prepare parcels for mailing. May maintain inventory records. May restock aircraft commissary supplies, such as linens, glasses, emergency kits, and beverages.

Warehouse Laborer

Loads and unloads materials in warehouse.: Reads work order, shipping order, or follows verbal instructions. Loads and unloads materials into or from vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Maintains and compiles records as required. May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
