Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Provides overall financial planning and analysis for the organization. Implements and executes financial analysis and financial planning and forecasting activities of organization. Develops, implements, and refines tools and techniques for financial analysis within the business to ensure that the needs of the business are consistently met. Oversees the data collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of revenues and expenses of the business. Assists in developing the annual expense and capital expense budgets for the organization. Designs and refines processes and procedures, and carries out and monitors these activities. Analyzes monthly projected performance, with particular emphasis on sales volume and product or service profitability. Provides analytical inputs to projects run primarily by upper management. Forecasts and analyzes organization's promotional allowance spending.: Provides analytical and implementation support to the organization across the spectrum of financial, growth, and process-improvement opportunities. Develops appropriate productivity targets and metrics that drive achievement of the organization's financial targets. Executes and monitors processes for the timely and efficient preparation of the annual budget, the mid-year estimate, and the annual strategic plan. Provides accurate updates of financial forecasts (risk and opportunity analyses) for both profitability and cash flow. Prepares the monthly sales forecasts for the organization. Provides analytical support by developing and analyzing financial models as a basis for understanding and communicating the financial implications of perceived opportunities and problems in the organization. Coordinates and supports new and reformulated product or service costing, including gathering and evaluating data from Operations, Procurement, Distribution, Sales, and Marketing. Prepares pricing and profitability analysis for new and reformulated product or service proposals for the organization. Develops and carries out the ongoing analysis of monthly operating performance of the organization, with particular emphasis on sales volume and product or service profitability, and drafts monthly narrative commentary on financial results. Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Director Financial Analysis

Guides and directs financial analysis, evaluation, and report generation activities of current and proposed financial plans in a manner designed to protect assets, meet reporting requirements, provide timely, meaningful reporting of operations, and effectively plan for and audit the financial needs of the firm. Oversees the financial analysis staff. Typically reports to Financial Top Officer and Financial Analysis Manager reports to this position.: Protects company assets through development and implementation of sound accounting policies and procedures. Provides for sound and timely managerial decisions and controls through provision of analyzed and evaluated financial operational data and information to management. Provisions adequate capital to meet current and future needs through development of an economical capital structure. Ensures optimum utilization of financial resources through sound forecasting and cash management. Minimizes tax liabilities through planning, researching, executing, and defending all Federal, State, local and foreign taxes applicable to the corporation. Ensures continuing departmental effectiveness through selection, training, development, and motivation of a competent staff.

May perform research and make analyses relative to losses and adverse financial trends and suggest remedial measures. May also oversee a clerical staff.

This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Constructs charts and graphs regarding investments, revenues, expenses, budgets, trends, and various other financial areas. Summarizes data setting forth current and long-term trends in investment risks and measurable economic influences pertinent to status of investments. May perform research and make analyses relative to losses and adverse financial trends and suggest remedial measures.

Financial Analysis Supervisor

Supervises, coordinates, documents, and participates in professional level analyses of information affecting financial and accounting programs of public, industrial, and/or financial organizations. Interprets data concerning investments, their price, yield, stability, and future trends, using financial periodicals, securities manuals, and personal interviews. Assigns, coordinates, and reviews work of programming personnel. Typically reports to IT Top Officer and Systems Analysis Manager reports to this position.: Develops programs from workflow charts or diagrams, considering factors, such as computer storage capacity and speed, extent of peripheral equipment, and intended use of output data. Converts workflow charts to language that can be processed by computer. Enters program codes into computer. Enters test data into computer. Analyzes test runs on computer to correct or direct correction of coded program and input data. Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. Trains subordinates in programming and program coding. Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs. Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Prepares records and reports.

Head of Merchandise Planning & Allocation

Formulates, plans and implements merchandising programs to plan merchandise, control inventory, and allocate merchandise to stores so as to optimize flow of materials, timing, quantities, margins, and optimum unit purchases. Does not have purchasing responsibilities. Directs analysts, planners, and/or allocators. Typically reports to Merchandising Top Officer.: Consults with other personnel to plan allocations to stores. Typically responsible for gross margin planning and analysis. Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. Oversees preparation and control of departmental annual budget. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
