Video Game Tester

Tests games that are still in development to look for bugs. Examines and analyzes video game content for bugs using various gaming consoles.: Documents bugs found in the games. Writes error reports which are sent to the development team for rectification. Verifies that the development team's fixes work properly. Creates internal guides and materials. Documents findings in databases and maintains databases to ensure up-to-date information has been entered. Conducts industry research of comparable video games by examining and evaluating competitors' games and creating game reports. Maintains confidentiality of games that have not been released to the public.

Video Game Programmer

Writes code based on the video game design concept to create the software engine that controls the video game program, controls characters through artificial intelligence, and blends animation and sound. Builds architecture of new systems to specification and implements technical requirement features as required by the console manufacturers.: Advises programming and art team on platform specific requirements. Creates and maintains tools and utilities, as necessary, for other members of the development team. Assists in creation of submission materials as required by console manufacturers. Creates task and schedules estimates. Coordinates bug tracking process with Quality Assurance Department. Assists in the creation of the project technical design document (TDD). Ensures the delivery of project milestones to the stated criteria. Troubleshoots and solves technical design. Provides direction to the team with complex programming implementations. Maintains help library.

Studio Technician Video Operator

Sets up and operates videotaping equipment to record and play back television programs, applying knowledge of videotaping equipment operation: reads television programming log to ascertain program to be recorded or program to be aired. Selects source, such as satellite or studio, from which program will be recorded, and selects videotaping equipment on which program will be recorded. Observes monitor to verify that station is on-air, and informs supervisor if station not on-air. Cleans videotape path to remove contaminants that would affect quality of recording or playback, and mounts videotape onto videotaping equipment. Sets audio level, and records test pattern and program onto videotape, using videotaping equipment. Verifies quality of recording, using videotape equipment, and informs designated personnel of quality of recording. Inspects tape for defective ends, removes defective end, using cutting tool, and mounts videotape onto videotaping equipment to play back program. Starts videotaping equipment and turns video and color monitors on to verify setting of video and color levels. Observes scales in video and color monitors and operates controls to adjust video and color levels. Cues program, using videotaping equipment, and places videotaping equipment in remote control mode for use by other operator. May operate videotaping equipment to dub and edit tapes. May wire audio and video patch bays (socketed equipment that allows for transfer of audio and video signals between different pieces of equipment, via cables). May set up videotaping equipment to play station bre.

Video Operator

Controls video console to regulate transmission of television scenes, including test patterns and filmed and live black-and-white or color telecast. Views action on television monitor and sets switches and observes dials on console to control framing, contrast, brilliance, color balance, and fidelity of image being transmitted. Video Producer

Plans, coordinates, and facilitates video projects from conception to completion, both in a studio and on location. Deals with all of the practical and political aspects of keeping a project running smoothly, so that the Director and the rest of the team can concentrate on the creative angles. Works closely with Directors and the other production staff on the shoot. Oversees Production Assistants, Coordinators, and Managers, depending on the size of the project. Attracts the money to fund each project and assumes responsibility for keeping production within the allocated budget.: Reads, researches, and assesses ideas and finished scripts. Pulls together all of the strands of creative and practical talent involved in the project to create a team. Interviews and selects screen writers and cast principals from staff members or outside talent. Commissions writers and secures the rights to novels, plays, or screenplays. Persuades potential contributors or investors to contribute or invest money to fund the video project. Builds and develops a network of contacts, and liaises and discusses projects with financial backers, with projects varying from a small, corporate video to a large Hollywood feature film. Hires key staff, including a Director and a crew to shoot films or videos. Controls the budget and allocates resources. Coordinates various aspects of production, such as audio work, scenes, music, timing, camera work, and script writing. Organizes shooting schedules. Troubleshoots any problems that arise. Supervises the progress of the project from production to post production. Holds regular meetings with the Director to discuss characters and scenes. Acts as a sounding board for the Director. Brings the finished production in on budget. Determines completion of the final product. May participate in marketing and distribution processes.

Assistant Video Editor

Assists Video Editor in editing motion picture film, television, or cable/satellite television video and sound tracks. Contributes to evaluation and selection of scenes in terms of dramatic and entertainment value and story continuity. Ensures work orders and elements are properly staged before edit session begins. Tracks down elements and work orders if necessary. Maintains project schedule.: Prepares session logs for Editor. Assists Editor as needed with tape changes, video ingests, machine setup, and tape striping. Trims film segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments in sequence that presents story with maximum effect, or edits video, using editing equipment. Maintains edit server. Reviews assembled film or edited video on screen or monitor and makes corrections. Provides input to Video Editor or supervisory personnel concerning filming of scenes. May specialize in particular field of film or video editing, such as feature, news, sound, sound effects, or music.

Operator Video

Associate Financial Analyst

Assists in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information for management decision-making. Assists organization with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control. Analyzes past and present financial data of organization and estimates future revenues and expenditures, applying principles of finance. Assists in the compilation of the annual plan capital budget, monthly forecast capital expenditures updates, and the long-range plan capital expenditure projections. Analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc. Analyzes the financial projections for monthly income estimate forecasts, annual and long-range plans, and special studies using integrated financial software.: Generates the monthly income estimate and operating reports including written commentary and analysis of variances. Performs other ad-hoc financial studies such as lease versus purchase, internal rate of return, etc. Assists in accounting for all assigned financial transactions in an effective and efficient manner by gathering, analyzing, classifying, and recording financial data. Summarizes financial data through the preparation of reports, schedules, statements, invoices, and filings, including rate filings. Analyzes accounts and financial results by developing an understanding of assigned financial and related business transaction flows, including supporting electronic data processing systems. Maintains accurate financial and accounting records which are in compliance with applicable company policies.

Accountant Financial Analyst

Conducts statistical analysis and applies principles of accounting to analyze past and present financial operations and estimates future revenues and expenditures. To carry out responsibilities at this level typically requires a four-year degree. Excludes paraprofessionals.: Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Advises management regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and return on investments scenarios. May develop, install, and maintain accounting systems that provide control of investments, receivables, and expenditures.
