Oversees and directs facilities operations to provide effective facilities management, medical building maintenance, construction projects, equipment upgrades and biomedical engineering.: Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates outcomes of the Facilities Department’s strategic plans. Manages building operations, maintenance and construction projects. Develops new strategies to enhance service and improve overall performance. Assures the ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Implements and maintains quality control program. Facilities Engineering Director

Manages a team of Industrial Engineers to design, improve, and install integrated systems of humans, processes, materials, and equipment. Specifies, predicts, and evaluates the results obtained from such systems. Drives continuous process improvements to ensure all business requirements are met or exceeded.: Leads the Industrial Engineering team and broader cross-functional team to drive overall process design and improvement and solve complex technical, operational, and system integration problems. Defines and manages all elements of plant operating system, including workflows, equipment capacity, staffing levels and methods, IT systems requirements, and technology applications. Applies and trains others in the use of lean operations concepts to optimize the overall system. Designs facilities, including layout of buildings, machines, and equipment, material handling equipment, and storage facilities. Engages and manages various outside contractors, vendors, suppliers, etc. Performs economic justifications on any new capital expenditure projects. Creates and maintains the capital plan. Ensures that plant bottlenecks are understood and are at sufficient capacity to achieve business requirements. Drives process improvement teams to improve business performance.

Building & Facilities Manager

Plans, directs, and coordinates, through staff of skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled trade personnel, activities concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds to minimize interruption and improve efficiency. Plans such matters as design and development of plant facilities, formulation of operating rules, regulations, and procedures. Formulates procedures for use in event of accidents, fires, or other emergencies. Inspects plant facilities or reviews inspection reports, to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements required. Hires, trains, and supervises building service personnel. Assigns workers to duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation and may obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors. : Plans and administers building department budget. Compiles records of labor and material cost for operating building and issues cost reports to owners or management. Reviews reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming fiscal year. Purchases building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture. May direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications. May be responsible for procurement of utilities or operations of utility systems. May negotiate for acquisition of property for development or lease of buildings and facilities. May prepare construction specifications or plans, obtaining advice from engineering consultants, assemble and analyze contract bids, and submit bids and recommendations to superiors for action.

Lodging Facilities Manager

Manages lodging facility such as motels, small hotels, small apartment houses, or trailer parks to ensure efficient and profitable operation. Excludes full service motels. Typically directs supervisory level personnel. : Establishes standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, room rates, advertising, publicity, credit, and type of patronage to be solicited. Allocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists in planning budgets. Interviews, hires, and evaluates personnel. Shows and rents or assigns accommodations. Registers guests. Mows and waters lawns, and cultivates flowerbeds and shrubbery. Cleans accommodations after guests' departure. Provides daily maid service in overnight accommodations. May provide telephone answering service for tenants, delivers mail and packages, and answers inquiries concerning travel routes, recreational facilities, scenic attractions, and eating establishments. May rent equipment, such as rowboats, water skis, and fishing tackle. May coordinate intramural activities of patrons of park. May arrange for medical aid for park patron. May sell light lunches, candy, tobacco, and other sundry items.

Hotel Recreational Facilities Manager

Manages hotel or motel recreational facilities: advises guests of available activities, such as swimming, skating, boating, and other sports. Processes applications for rental of cabanas, docking of yachts, and membership. Hires and directs activities of subordinates. Compiles record of receipts collected for use of facilities. Requisitions supplies and equipment.

Rental Manager Public Events Facilities

Negotiates contracts for leasing arenas, auditoriums, stadiums, or other public events facilities: solicits new business and renews established contracts to promote rental of facilities. Maintains schedule of rentals to determine availability of facilities for bookings. Oversees operation and maintenance of facilities. Notifies fire and police departments of scheduled use of buildings to provide protection. Medical Facilities Section Director

Administers activities of state department of hospital licensing and construction: directs inspection of public and private hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic centers and similar facilities in operation or under construction. Recommends or disapproves licensing in accord with findings, state laws, and established policy. Prepares and coordinates state plan for construction of medical facilities, in accordance with demonstrated need, available funds, and availability of medical service personnel. Prepares and enforces standards for operation of medical facilities.
