Chief Operating Officer

Top Facilities Executive

Oversees and directs facilities operations to provide effective facilities management, medical building maintenance, construction projects, equipment upgrades and biomedical engineering.: Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates outcomes of the Facilities Department’s strategic plans. Manages building operations, maintenance and construction projects. Develops new strategies to enhance service and improve overall performance. Assures the ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Implements and maintains quality control program. Operating Room Services Director

Directs nursing services provided in the operating room and patient holding and receiving areas to provide immediate and professional quality of care. Assists in establishing policies and procedures related to pre-operative, operative, and post-operative nursing functions. Typically requires licensure as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of five years of operating room nursing experience. : Establishes and maintains a clean and safe environment within the operating room suite and patient areas. Monitors care of the operating room suite and equipment to ensure that sterile techniques are used, equipment functions properly, and items are properly positioned. May manage the planning and coordination of the operating room scheduling system.

Operating Room Services Manager

Manages the nursing services in both the inpatient and outpatient operating rooms. Establishes policies and procedures related to nursing and patient care functions within operating rooms and post-operative care areas. Plans, directs, and coordinates, through staff of skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled trade personnel, activities concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds to minimize interruption and improve efficiency. Plans such matters as design and development of plant facilities, formulation of operating rules, regulations, and procedures. Formulates procedures for use in event of accidents, fires, or other emergencies. Inspects plant facilities or reviews inspection reports, to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements required. Hires, trains, and supervises building service personnel. Assigns workers to duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation and may obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors. : Plans and administers building department budget. Compiles records of labor and material cost for operating building and issues cost reports to owners or management. Reviews reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming fiscal year. Purchases building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture. May direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications. May be responsible for procurement of utilities or operations of utility systems. May negotiate for acquisition of property for development or lease of buildings and facilities. May prepare construction specifications or plans, obtaining advice from engineering consultants, assemble and analyze contract bids, and submit bids and recommendations to superiors for action.

Hotel Facilities Manager

Manages lodging facility such as motels, small hotels, small apartment houses, or trailer parks to ensure efficient and profitable operation. Excludes full service motels. Typically directs supervisory level personnel. : Establishes standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, room rates, advertising, publicity, credit, and type of patronage to be solicited. May provide telephone answering service for tenants, delivers mail and packages, and answers inquiries concerning travel routes, recreational facilities, scenic attractions, and eating establishments. May rent equipment, such as rowboats, water skis, and fishing tackle. May coordinate intramural activities of patrons of park. May arrange for medical aid for park patron. May sell light lunches, candy, tobacco, and other sundry items.

Sewage Facilities Supervisor

Directs and coordinates work of subordinate personnel engaged in installing, maintaining, repairing, servicing, enlarging, and relocating sewage facilities. Studies proposed projects to evaluate most feasible approach for excavations and repairs, using land plats, topographical maps, and other source data. This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Determines need for material and equipment required to complete project, such as type and size of pipe, fittings and unions, cranes, bulldozers, welders, or trenching machines, according to size and nature of project. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Operating Room Head

Supervises and coordinates all surgical unit and operating room services, including pre-operative and post-operative patient care. Oversees personnel in charge of maintaining cleanliness, sterility, and safety to patients and staff in operating room, and ensures proper functioning of equipment. Coordinates schedules and assigns responsibilities to nurses, technicians, and orderlies to ensure proper patient care.
