Equipment Operator (EO)

Maintain highways, municipal and rural roads, airport runways, and rights-of-way. Duties include patching broken or eroded pavement, repairing guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences. Equipment Operator Light

Operates light, power-driven, maintenance or construction equipment. Performs minor maintenance on equipment and keeps operating records. Executes a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks.: Performs skilled driving and operation of equipment and vehicles such as small wheeled tractors, including those with special purpose attachments such as mowers, blades, cultivators, and rakes; trench diggers with 1/4 to 1 cubic yard or less bucket capacity loaders and small rollers; one ton, two axle trucks with up to five speed transmissions; and forklifts typically under three ton capacity.

Equipment Operator Heavy

Operates several types of power construction equipment, such as compressors, pumps, hoists, derricks, cranes, shovels, tractors, scrapers, or motor graders, to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structural and reinforcing steel, and pour concrete or other hard surface paving materials. : Turns valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps. Adjusts handwheels and depresses pedals to drive machines and control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms. Repairs and maintains equipment. May operate machinery on sales lot or customer's property to demonstrate salable features of construction equipment.

Equipment Operator Utility

Assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment, such as computers, test equipment telemetering systems, electric motors, and batteries.

Equipment Operator Railway

Lay, repair, and maintain track for standard or narrow-gauge railroad equipment used in regular railroad service or in plant yards, quarries, sand and gravel pits, and mines. Include ballast cleaning machine operators and railroad bed tamping machine operators.

Equipment Operator Wage Hand

Drive and control farm equipment to till soil and to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. May perform tasks, such as crop baling or hay bucking. May operate stationary equipment to perform post-harvest tasks, such as husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning.

Equipment Operator Heavy Duty

Operate or tend machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets, to excavate and load loose materials. Exclude 'Dredge Operators' (53-7031).

Equipment Operator Construction

Operates construction equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. : Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects. Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges. Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions. Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members.

Equipment Operator Mobile Crane & Heavy

Operate or tend machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets, to excavate and load loose materials. Exclude 'Dredge Operators' (53-7031).

Equipment Operator Special Construction
