Central Supply Manager

Plans and manages central supply functions to ensure efficient operations in processing, sterilization and distribution of medical supplies. This position typically requires a college degree and related experience or five years of work experience in Central Supply.: Plans and manages central supply functions to ensure efficient operations in processing, sterilization and distribution of medical supplies. Manages and coordinates activities of employees engaged in furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment for use in care and treatment of patients in a medical facility. Oversees activities of workers engaged in cleaning, assembling, and packing of linens, gowns, dressings, gloves, treatment trays, instruments, and related items. Provides management oversight for the preparation of solutions, arrangement of stock, and requisitioning, issuing, controlling, and charging of supplies and equipment. Instructs personnel on the use of sterilizing equipment and water distillation apparatus, setting up standardized treatment trays, and maintenance of equipment in the central supply area. Establishes standards of work performance and methods of operation for department. Monitors work activities to ensure that employees are following prescribed procedures to meet organizational standards. Ensures that aseptic techniques are employed by employees in preparing and handling sterile items. Inspects daily inventory, maintains records of supply usage, and compiles periodic reports. This position typically requires a college degree and related experience or five years of work experience in Central Supply. May be responsible for developing work schedules. May be responsible for supervising departmental operations on a 24-hour basis

Central Office Equipment Engineer

Implements planning schedule for installation of central office switching facilities, or transmission facilities equipment, such as broadband, radio, TV, camera, repeaters, and other related equipment to meet projected traffic requirements. Typically requires a degree in engineering; however, some companies may accept equivalent related education and experience combined.: Reviews planning schedule or equipment request and data on projected traffic to determine quantities of specific types of equipment required. Plans arrangement of equipment, prepares cost estimates for equipment and installation, and submits data to management for authorization approval. Prepares drawings and equipment specifications for installation. Monitors installation activities to solve any problems concerning arrangement or specifications. Assigns equipment and installation expenditures to specific program or project accounts. Closes out installation authorization when equipment has been tested and put in service.

Central Office Operator

Operates telephone equipment to establish or assist customers in establishing local or long-distance telephone connections.: Places person-to-person calls, interrupts busy lines if an emergency warrants interruption, provides emergency phone contact, assists customers having difficulties with automated phone systems. Monitors automated system for placing collect calls intervening if caller needs assistance. Quotes charges on long-distance calls.

Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit and splices wires when necessary. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

Industrial Electrician

Analyzes and corrects electrical problems, and repairs and overhauls electrical equipment and controls. Plans details of working procedure by determining replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correct the problem. Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.: Receives wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed. Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements. Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices. Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables and power distribution cables. Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade. Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls. Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved. Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
