Manages business affairs of labor union. Contacts prospective clients through newspaper advertisements or mailing lists. Describes to client selling points of property or business, emphasizing such factors as improvements made and profit potential. Sells business or property to buyer and makes arrangements for escrow and title change.

Business Services Analyst

Formulates and defines the scope and objectives of business systems based on both user needs and an understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements. Applies extensive knowledge of the customer's business and industry to develop project specifications. Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and translates into proper system requirements specifications.: Researches, identifies, and develops solutions to problems. Advises on methods to improve business processes. Coordinates and participates in proposals, feasibility studies, implementations, and new business development. Plans and performs analysis of e-commerce activities and/or functions and guides the subsequent design and implementation or improvement of existing e-commerce applications. Utilizes available personnel and computer system resources to analyze, design, and modify information, applications, methods, systems, and procedures related to e-commerce to determine the most useful solutions for the company. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science, in addition to some practical experience.: Determines the most effective ways in which information should be collected and processed. Tests, debugs, investigates, and corrects program-related problems, and creates and provides effective and reliable documentation. Analyzes, interprets, and makes recommendations based on gathered data, in the form of formal proposals and/or presentations to upper management. Depending on experience, may lead, train, and guide the work of less senior analysts. May perform proactive activities related to the completion and implementation of a project.

Business Systems Analyst

Analyzes business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business systems software to meet the needs of the organization. Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provides recommendations to management personnel. Participates in systems development and design, including software programming and table, report, and panel design. Formulates test plans and coordinates and performs software testing. This job typically requires a four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.: Coordinates implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to the new system, and works with application support personnel to resolve system problems. Documents system specifications and notes any changes in procedure. Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management, and system end-users to determine requirements and obtain sign-off. Provides training and technical support to system end-users.

Business Analyst

Proposes alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals. Duties are concerned with the design and improvement of computer-based business systems. Works closely with senior managers to identify and solve a variety of computer-based business system problems. Analyzes requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing business systems. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures and identify problems. Solicits from management symptoms of problem, formally defines the problem, breaks problem into component parts, and gathers information about each of these parts from a variety of sources. Selects the most appropriate analytical technique. Some studies may involve use of several techniques including simulation, linear and nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, queuing and other stochastic-process models, Markov decision processes, econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process. Writes description of business needs, business program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer-based business systems. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. Studies existing computer-based business systems to evaluate effectiveness, and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required.

Business Intelligence Analyst

Analyzes historical, current, and predictive views of business operations, most often using data already gathered into a data warehouse or a data mart and occasionally working from operational data. Relies on skills, knowledge, technologies, applications, quality, risks, security issues, and practices used to help the business acquire a better understanding of market behavior and commercial context. Assists in the collection, extraction, integration, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and reporting of business information.: Analyzes business performance, which may include, production, financial, and many other sources of business data for purposes that include business performance management. Teams with program managers to produce timely customer deliverables and define reporting and data requirements. Collaborates with clients to define business rules associated with data input and tracking and to understand and define their business objectives and goals. Designs and leads program strategy based on nature of customer data, processes, and needs. Works with other Business Analysts to define requirements and design, develop, and implement automated solutions and processes across all managed programs. Performs analysis to validate the accuracy of data being reported and provides trend and early-warning analysis. Monitors, tracks, and understands industry trends and the factors that drive them.

Technical Business Analyst

Provides support to technical professionals with regard to a variety of administrative, systems, and business operations problems, and participates in related system development projects of the most complex nature. Determines and defines system specifications, process improvement, quality assurance, interaction with customers and technical staff, problem resolution, and project-lead activities.: Plans and performs technical analysis of company functions, processes, and activities to improve business applications for the most effective use of money, materials, equipment, and people. Utilizes available computer systems resources and personnel to carry out technical analysis in support of management's performance improvement goals. Analyzes information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures to determine most useful business solutions for the company. Works closely with senior managers to identify and solve a variety of computer-based business system problems. Analyzes requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing technical business systems. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures and identify problems. Solicits from management symptoms of problem, formally defines the problem, breaks problem into component parts, and gathers information about each of these parts from a variety of sources. Selects the most appropriate analytical technique.
