Regulatory Affairs Analyst

Monitors and analyze issues in various phases of government regulatory procedures to identify trends important to the organization for use by management in decision making. Provides analysis and background material in responses to regulations, policies, and legislation. Participates in the development of organizational strategy to address regulatory affairs.: Reviews and edits materials to meet regulatory requirements and organization policy. Reviews newsletters, articles, government publications, and other reports for background information on relevant topics. Develops and prepares data required for submission to regulatory bodies. Serves as liaison to task forces, committees, and work groups as assigned. Interfaces with key staff members in Strategic Planning Department, Product Development, Operations, Legal, and Customer Service Departments to meet scheduled submission dates. Communicates with representatives of Federal and State agencies and other outside organizations on issues related to the organization. Establishes and maintains relationships with appropriate organizations in the private sector to obtain information on subject areas of interest, and attends selected meetings on relevant topics. Participates in development, analysis, and report writing for the organization. Advises on the organization's position on proposals and assists in implementing the internal communications program regarding government legislation that affects the organization's operations. Monitors proposed legislation and regulations for possible impact and effect on the organization. Advises department manager when significant deviations occur from planned submission schedule or when product, testing, labeling, or service will be unlikely to meet regulatory requirements. May meet with government officials and other external parties to resolve grievances and/or advance positions. May represent the Regulatory Affairs Department in monthly legal process review.

Regulatory Agency Director

Directs agency, division, or major function of agency or division charged with investigating regulated activities to assure compliance with federal, state, or municipal laws: interprets and clarifies federal, state, or municipal laws. Represents agency at meetings, conventions, and other forums to promote and explain agency objectives. Consults with other governmental agencies, business community, and private organizations to resolve problems. Plans and directs surveys and research studies to ensure effective program operation and to establish or modify standards. Advises on, and coordinates the formation of, organization's position on proposals. Market Research Manager

Manages market research and analysis activities to provide information regarding sales potential and market conditions for an organization's products and services. Implements and manages the organization's market research program, which includes analysis of sales records, trends, and new and existing product and service markets. Interprets and predicts consumer trends through the use of analytic techniques. Projects market potential and estimates market penetration. Schedules and assigns tasks to supervisors or analysts. Typically reports to the Market Research Director and has Market Research Supervisor and/or Analysts reporting to this position.: Monitors research projects and prepares reports for management's use regarding market conditions, market potential, sales forecasts, and information on competitors. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy. Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth. May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Market Manager

Directs and coordinates activities of municipal, regional, or state fruit, vegetable, or meat market or exchange: negotiates contracts between wholesalers and market authority or rents space to food buyers and sellers. Directs through subordinate supervisory personnel collection of fees or monies due market, maintenance and cleaning of buildings and grounds, and enforcement of market sanitation and security rules and regulations. Keeps records of current sales prices of food items and total sales volume. May endeavor to resolve differences arising between buyers and sellers. Market Research Supervisor

Analyzes existing and potential markets for the organization's products and services. Provides guidance and direction to analysts, ensuring the organization's policies are being followed and objectives are being met. Reviews findings of analysts. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve department goals. Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.

Pre-Authorization Nurse

Performs utilization management activities to include precertifications, admission reviews, and retrospective authorizations, using established medical criteria. Works with providers to increase efficient utilization of services. Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing (either LPN or RN) with two years of experience in a hospital or physician's office.: Evaluates the medical necessity for inpatient hospital admission and authorizes the admission along with the estimated length of stay. Provides authorizations and enters authorization data. Writes and sends approval and denial letters. Screens for medical necessity of outpatient procedures, home medical equipment, and any other service that requires precertification. Determines the need for continued review or follow-up and refers cases to case managers.

Regulatory Administrator

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in investigating and responding to complaints from utility service subscribers or regulatory agencies concerning rates and services. Directs investigations of utility company rates and services to ensure that subscribers' complaints are answered and requirements of governmental utility-regulation agencies are met. This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Analyzes reports of resulting data, and recommends response to complaint, considering nature of complaint and company interests and policies. Directs preparation of documents for use by company witnesses summoned to testify at governmental hearings. Reviews governmental rulings to determine changes in legal stipulations and probable effects on company activities. May provide advice and source data to management personnel concerned with preparing applications to regulatory bodies for changes in rates or service.

Market Research Analyst

Researches market conditions in local, regional, or national area to determine potential sales of product or service. Conducts analysis involving competitors, pricing, sales, methods of marketing, existing and potential customer preferences, economic conditions, advertising, distribution, and other factors that may influence future sales. Analyzes data and makes recommendations based on findings. Excludes paraprofessional level positions. Level of responsibility typically requires a degree in the field of market research. Reports to Market Research Manager or Market Research Supervisor.: Establishes research methodology and designs format for data gathering, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires. Examines and analyzes statistical data to forecast future marketing trends. Gathers data on competitors and analyzes prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution. Collects data on customer preferences and buying habits. Prepares reports and graphic illustrations of findings.

Broker & Market Operator Grain

Buys and sells grain on commission, for customers, through commodity exchange: advises customers on probable price changes and factors which may affect prices, such as crop carryover, normal grain production and consumption, foreign and domestic crop conditions, and price differentials among various grades of grains. Notifies customer when additional margin is required because of price fluctuations and governmental regulations. May buy and sell grain futures for customer or brokerage firm and be designated buyer, grain.
