Dialysis Services Executive

Provides executive leadership for dialysis services operations.: Develops and implements approved standards and guidelines for renal dialysis programs and ensures they are within budget. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates outcomes of renal dialysis services. Directs patient care services and ensures adequate staffing for dialysis services units. Develops strategic dialysis services initiatives and transforms initiatives into action plans. Performs regular data analysis of dialysis census, quality data and operations cost reports to identify variances and their causes so that areas of focus may be identified and resources may be appropriately deployed. Works closely with the Medical Director to ensure that renal dialysis services are provided in an efficient and effective manner. Provides oversight and direction in establishing and maintaining a system for developing, reviewing, approving and disseminating standards of clinical practice. Assists in reviewing and making recommendations on policy issues regarding clinical practice with appropriate discipline within the organization. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Hires, develops and motivates a qualified dialysis services management staff. An advanced degree in a field of health or nursing is typically required for this position. The position typically requires strong clinical and quality improvement knowledge. May oversee the study and treatment of professional and technical hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, drug overdoses, and plasmaphoresis.

Nurse Manager Clinic

Manages activities of nursing and support staff in a clinic or ambulatory care setting to ensure that patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and administrative procedures. This position requires a licensed Registered Nurse with clinical experience.: Manages activities of nursing and support staff in a clinic or ambulatory care setting to ensure that patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and administrative procedures. Provides nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates activities of the clinic with other patient care units. Identifies problem areas in the nursing unit, such as understaffing, absenteeism, and wastefulness, and takes corrective action. May have nursing supervisor or assistant nurse managers reporting to this position. Consults with Top Nursing Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of policies to ensure that patient needs are met. Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for unit staff members, and participates in guidance and educational programs. Hires, trains and motivates a qualified nursing staff to provide quality patient care services. Prepares work schedule and assigns duties to nursing staff in unit for efficient use of personnel. Assists in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget. Engages in studies and investigations related to improving nursing care.

Clinic Director Satellite

Oversees all managerial and supervisory functions in a satellite clinic, including managing fiscal, human resources, and administrative activities.: Implements all clinic policies and procedures. Manages clinic marketing and outreach, including public affairs and community relations. Oversees and directs clinical staffing plan and participates in budget process. Reviews operational costs with manager(s) and assures cost-effective and quality operations. Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulations. Ensures security of medications, patient records, and employee records. Advises senior medical group and system leaders on administrative and operational matters. Leads special projects, committees, or task forces as requested. Participates in and coordinates resources required to carry out clinical studies. Ensures that clinical studies enroll quality subjects, are completed on time, report accurate information, and adhere with protocol. Clinic Manager Large

Oversees and manages the daily operations of a large clinic. Monitors patient flow and assures clinic is adequately staffed. Oversees the performance of all patient care responsibilities including, but not limited to, appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out process, preparation of patient/client for clinician visit, medical record management and filing, performance of general nursing duties, tracking and filing of diagnostic studies, and completion of end-of-day closing process.: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Resolves issues with patients, staff, and suppliers. Facilitates the smooth flow of clients and patients to ensure minimum patient waiting time. Supervises the clinic staff, interviews and hires staff, and reviews staff performance. Identifies internal/external training needs and provides for staff development.

Supervises the planning, organization, and directing of the daily operations of the clinic. Manages clinical staff to include hiring, training, coordination of patient care, supervising case management of field staff, monitoring patient lab results, and management of client documentation. Assumes responsibility for day-to-day clinic operations in absence of the Clinic Manager. Reports to the Clinic Manager. : Directs and supervises staff to achieve service, clinical, and financial objectives. Assures established production goals are being attained on a daily basis. Monitors compliance with regulations through quality assurance activities. Assures that patient care needs are met through effective management of human resources and materials. Directs staff hiring, orientation, training, evaluation, disciplining, terminating, and development.

Dialysis Technician

Sets up, operates, and monitors hemodialysis machines and systems to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure. Attaches dialyzer and tubing to machine to assemble for use. Mixes dialysate, according to formula. Initiates dialysis via approved accesses, observes all safety measures, takes and monitors patient vital signs, administers fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed, and documents activity appropriately. Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations for patient care and services. : Reviews dialysis orders, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observations and interview; documents observations. Observes dialysis machines and RO water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms, and makes appropriate adjustments before, during, and after the dialysis treatment. Monitors patient for adverse reactions. Dismantles, cleans, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment.

Directs and coordinates activities in a kidney dialysis unit. Assigns duties to dialysis technicians and coordinates outpatient and inpatient treatment involving setting up and operating equipment to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure. Evaluates activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Observes treatment to ensure that treatment is carried out as directed, and treatment administered in accordance with physician's instructions. : Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' records. Inspects facilities for cleanliness and comfort. Keeps informed of special orders concerning patients. Participates in orientation and training of personnel.
