Organizes and oversees the daily activities of the Pharmacy Department, including staff work schedules and resource allocation. Manages and directs the pharmacy processes and activities of personnel to ensure the efficient and timely dispensing of medications to clients and compliance with all relevant laws. : Ensures that the department complies with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. Develops departmental policies and procedures. Oversees the financial operations of the pharmacy, including assisting in preparing budgets and reporting operational and financial data. Pharmacy Director

Ensures that proper documentation is completed for all medications, with particular attention on controlled substances. Mixes pharmaceutical preparations using proper aseptic techniques, fills bottles or other container with prescribed medications, and types labels for bottles, using proper packaging techniques. Collects, organizes and evaluates information to assist pharmacists in serving patients. Prepares and distributes medications in a variety of health system settings. Provides drug information and education, as needed. Receives and stores incoming supplies and assists in stocking shelves, checking prices and maintaining inventory. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Collects payment or initiates billing for pharmacy services and goods. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods. Types and files reports, and completes forms as directed. This position typically requires completion of a pharmacy technician training program and current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Pharmacy Associate

Assists Pharmacists in filling orders, checking prices, and stocking shelves in a retail pharmacy establishment. Serves customers at a pharmacy counter and processes purchases. Typically requires on-the-job training.: Takes customer orders, delivers customer orders, computes charges, handles payment, and enters data in computer.
