Plant Operator Channel Process

Tends series of burners, located in channel-process burner buildings (hot houses), that produce carbon black by contact of gas flame with collecting channels, from which deposited carbon is scraped: turns valves to regulate flow of gas or mixture of gas and oil to burners to produce flames that deposit carbon black on channels (flat surfaces). Turns handwheel to bring channels into contact with flame. Opens and closes doors at sides and ends of burner building to regulate draft and compensate for changes in atmospheric conditions, air-fuel mixtures, draft, and fuel consumption. Observes, through building ports, accumulation of carbon black, automatic scraping of accumulation from channel, and flow of carbon black through conveyors to detect malfunction of burners and scrapers and to verify production rate.

Program/Project Management Office (PMO) Manager

Global Network Manager

Leads production network development and implementation of new sites and customer additions as well as requested changes to the network including network monitoring, network modeling, network analysis, firewall rules, routing changes, Domain Name System/Active Directory (DNS/AD) environment, etc. Leads role in collaboration with organization partners to achieve required end state including adherence to hardware, software, and security standards. Collaborates with multiple project teams to ensure adherence to and consistency with the organization’s architecture principals. Performs capacity planning and manages follow-up implementation of increasing/decreasing capacities. Submits budgetary requests, sets performance standards, conducts employee performance appraisals, and participates in hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.

Applications Programming Manager

Manages and coordinates the development, creation, installation, and maintenance of computer programs to process data using business and scientific applications. Oversees and reviews work of programming personnel, and gives technical support and guidance. Analyzes workflow and assigns or schedules work to meet priorities and goals. May report to director level, is typically the second level of management, and may have first level supervisors reporting to this position; however, in smaller companies the manager may be the first level supervisor over subordinate staff.: Directs daily operations of department and coordinates project activities with other departments. Meets with IT department heads, supervisors, systems analysis personnel, and user management to solicit cooperation, clarify program intent, and identify and resolve problems. Analyzes test runs on computer to correct or direct correction of coded program and input data. Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs. Evaluates programming project proposals and assesses project feasibility. Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Directs training of subordinates in programming and program coding. Develops and interprets organization goals, policies, and procedures, and reviews project plans. Approves, prepares, monitors, and adjusts department budget, and prepares required records and reports. Participates in staffing decisions.

Manager Systems & Programming

Manages, organizes, and administers systems analysis and preparation of applications and operating systems programming to process data and solve problems by use of computers. Establishes priorities and schedules, and oversees and reviews work of systems analysis personnel and programming personnel. Reviews feasibility studies and time and cost estimates of new or revised systems. Assists in the development of standards, procedures, and operating systems applications. The manager level is typically the second level of management and may have first level supervisors reporting to his position; however, in smaller companies the manager may be a first level supervisor over subordinate staff.: Ensures projects are completed on time and according to company standards. Consults with personnel in other information systems groups to coordinate activities. Consults with management to clarify systems and programs intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of application systems changes required. Develops a project plan and schedule with key milestones, contingency plans, workflow charts or diagrams, considering factors, such as resource requirements, computer storage capacity and speed, extent of peripheral equipment, and intended use of output data. Manages conversion of workflow charts to language that can be processed by computer and entering of program codes and test data into computer. Analyzes test runs on computer and supervises correction of coded program and input data. Manages the revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. Trains subordinates in systems analysis, feasibility studies, programming, and program coding. Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs. Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods. Prepares records and reports.
