Identifies potential areas of equal employment or diversity problems, studies equal opportunity complaints to clarify issues, and meets with personnel involved to counsel, arbitrate, and settle disputes. : Confers with supervisory personnel to verify or document alleged violations of law, such as failure to post notices, process grievances, or correct ethnic or other imbalances. Reviews contracts to determine company actions required to meet equal opportunity provisions of local, State, or Federal laws. Prepares report of findings and makes recommendations for corrective action. Participates with Personnel Manager in addressing and resolving issues involving company hiring and related personnel policies.

Equal Opportunity Representative

Organizes and implements federally funded programs related to equal employment opportunity by providing consultation, encouraging good will between employers and minority communities, and evaluating employment practices: consults with community representatives to develop technical assistance agreements in accordance with statutory regulations. Informs minority community on civil rights laws. Assists employers to interpret state and federal laws. Develops guidelines for nondiscriminatory employment practices for use by employers. Acts as liaison representative between minority placement agencies and large employers. Investigates existing employment practices to detect and correct discriminatory factors. Conducts surveys and evaluates findings to determine existence of systematic discrimination.

Assists students to take and score self-administered vocational interest and aptitude tests. Schedules appointments for students requiring professional assistance. : Orders, catalogs, and maintains files on materials relating to job opportunities, careers, technical schools, colleges, scholarships, armed forces, and other programs. Assists students and teachers to locate career information related to students' interests and aptitudes, or demonstrates use of Internet, files, shelf collections, and other information retrieval systems. Keeps records of students enrolled in work experience program and other vocational programs to assist counseling and guidance staff. May make presentations to parent and other groups to publicize activities of career center.

Technician Career Guidance

Management Services Organization Executive

Directs the overall operation and provides executive leadership in a management services organization.: Responsible for the profitability of a management services organization that manages business operations such as human resources, materials management, employee health and safety and financial management to improve productivity, lower costs, and enhance revenue. Establishes strategic plans and guides implementation. Confers with executive management to plan operational objectives, to develop policies and procedures, to coordinate functions and operations between divisions, departments and satellite locations, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives. Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. An advanced degree in a field of health or business is typically required for this position.

Patient Financial Services Director

Plans and directs business office operations of the medical facility to ensure that revenue management functions meet customer and organizational requirements. Plans and directs business office operations to include such functions as admitting, patient registration, billing, collections, and insurance claims. Typically requires a college degree in business and related managerial experience.: Assists in coordinating and maintaining patient financial services programs to ensure compliance with current payments, rules, and regulations that impact the medical center and/or physician's billing and collections process. Monitors and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid documentation guidelines. Monitors and evaluates current reimbursement/payment rules and ensures that legislative and regulatory changes impacting medical billing are anticipated and communicated to the clinical faculty, staff, and departmental billing personnel. Develops techniques for effective analyses of billing and collections efforts. Oversees resolution of third party denials and assists with reimbursement appeals and problems. Prepares financial reports and analyses to show progress or adverse trends and makes appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Assists in identification of new technologies that will improve departmental operations. Develops departmental strategies to meet cash projection formulas, reduce days in Accounts Receivable, and reduce denials. Ensures compliance with State and Federal law, compliance plans, HIPAA, and JCAHO guidelines. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Hires, develops, and motivates a qualified Patient Financial Services staff. May provide assistance to physicians in determining appropriate use of codes for maximizing reimbursement of physician services.
