Clinical Services Director

Establishes appropriate levels of care and provides strategic direction and oversight of all clinical and educational programs in a hospice or home care organization. Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates outcomes of clinical service's strategic plans. Leads the development, implementation, and coordination of quality, cost effective patient care programs, contributing to excellent patient care, education, and outcomes. Typically requires licensure as a Registered Nurse with five years of clinical nursing experience.: Responsible for identifying and capitalizing on clinical program opportunities. Promotes and develops a clinical service culture throughout the organization. Works closely with the medical staff to ensure that clinical services are provided in an efficient and effective manner. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Hires, develops, and motivates a qualified clinical services department staff.

Medical Clinical Specialist

Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in clinical area or hospital to ensure quality care to patients. Ensures appropriate care is provided to patients. Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interviews personnel and patients to evaluate effectiveness of quality assurance program. May report to Quality Assurance Head Hospital or a similar high-level position. Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in the field of nursing.: Serves as a professional resource to nursing staff. Writes quality assurance policies and procedures. Reviews and evaluates patients' medical records, applying quality assurance criteria. Selects specific topics for review, such as problem procedures, drugs, high volume cases, high risk cases, or other factors. Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings. May review patient records, applying utilization review criteria, to determine need for admission and continued stay in hospital. May oversee personnel engaged in quality assurance review of medical records.

Registered Nurse

Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital, nursing home, infirmary, or similar health care facility. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Requires RN license.: Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient. May rotate among various clinical services of institution, such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, psychiatry, and tuberculosis. May prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and hand items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner. May make beds, bathe, and feed patients. May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.

Registered Health Information Technician

Reviews the medical record documentation to assure specificity of diagnoses, procedures, and appropriate/optimal reimbursement for hospital and/or professional charges and accurately codes and sequences the primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and CPT coding conventions. Typically requires a college degree in medical health records and CCS certification by the American Health Information Management Association or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).: Coordinates and reviews the work of designated employees to ensure quality and quantity of work performed through regular audits. Assists with research and development and presentation of continuing education programs on areas of specialization. Abstracts and compiles data from medical records for optimal reimbursement for hospital and/or professional charges. Consults with and educates physicians on coding practices and conventions. Maintains reporting documentation for certain procedures in compliance with regulation. Performs medical record audits. Compiles medical care and census data for statistical reports on types of diseases treated, surgery performed, and use of hospital beds, in response to inquiries from law firms, insurance companies, and government agencies. Conducts special studies and research.

Nurse Registered

OB/GYN Clinical Nurse

Provides professional nursing care for patients in the obstetrical and gynecological departments. Performs total patient care in the labor room, delivery room, postpartum unit, and nursery. Requires RN license.: Administers prescribed medications. Maintains patients' medical records. Assists physician during treatments, examinations, and surgical procedures. Evaluates, plans, and documents the delivery room nursing process as needed.

Psychologist Clinical

Typically requires a doctoral degree in field of specialty.: Observes patients and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques, such as milieu therapy, psychodrama, play therapy, and hypnosis. Selects approach to use in individual therapy, such as directive, non-directive, and supportive therapy, and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy. May collaborate with Psychiatrist and other specialists in developing treatment programs for patients. May instruct and direct students serving psychological internships in hospitals and clinics. May develop experimental designs and conduct research in the fields of personality development and adjustment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. May serve as a consultant to industrial, social, educational, welfare, and other agencies on individual cases or in evaluation, planning, and development of mental health programs. May specialize in behavior problems and therapy, crime and delinquency, group therapy, individual diagnosis and therapy, mental deficiency, objective tests, projective techniques, or speech pathology.

Chemist Clinical

Conducts research to determine action of substances on tissues and vital processes of living organisms. Requires advanced studies in the field of biochemistry.: Studies chemical processes of living organisms. Isolates, analyzes, and identifies hormones, vitamins, allergens, minerals, and enzymes and determines effects on body functions. Examines chemical aspects of formation of antibodies, and conducts research into chemistry of cells and blood corpuscles. Studies chemistry of living processes, such as mechanisms of development of normal and abnormal cells, breathing and digestion, and of living energy changes, such as growth, aging, and death. May specialize in particular area or field of work. May clean, purify, refine, and otherwise prepare pharmaceutical compounds for commercial distribution and develop new drugs and medications.

Registered Representative

Sells financial products and services to clients for investment purposes, applying knowledge of securities, investment plans, market conditions, regulations, and financial situation of clients. Must be registered to sell securities.: Identifies potential clients, using advertising campaigns, mailing lists, and personal contacts. Solicits business from potential clients.
